  1. I don't know. Based on the close up pics of the spine it looks like glue bled through and is visible on the spine. That might indicate too much post production glue being added to the book in an attempt to reattach the cover. It's a guess of course. I have no idea if pressing could cause this effect.
  2. It's sad. Just imagine the contribution that could and likely would be made by somebody who clearly knows little or nothing about comics and chose that username. Maybe he will show up again
  3. Are you kidding me??!! To much (gasp) tape? Tell your buyer to get a life.... safety first...lmao Sure chief, sure
  4. But.... but....then we wouldn't have 9.0 = 9.2 = 9.4 = 9.6 = 9.8 =
  5. That's not necessarily true. I once used too much tape on a cardboard sandwich and the buyer let me know that he had a devil of a time getting the comics out without damaging them, because I thought that more tape was better and more secure. There have also been people on this board talking about similar situations so making a blanket statement that more is always better is not always true.
  6. What if it's all just a cruel tease and the boards will go down again in 3...................2................
  7. I hope everyone's withdrawal symptoms were mild
  8. Hey, hey, hey! Let's not completely go off the deep end here.
  9. My only regret is that I didn't buy every ST 169 that I could find over the course of 30+ years for next to nothing. On the other hand, who knew?
  10. I have to believe that people who pay this much for this book (and many others) are going to be very disappointed and regretful someday
  11. The only way that would be near mint is if the OP photographed it next to this
  12. That's a printer's crease. A pretty long one but it is production related.
  13. Thats it ? That seems to be all it takes these days. It's absolutely tothemarketdownthestreetforsomeCRAZY
  14. No. No one "needs" to start a registry at any time. If you, err I mean, your friend wants to start a registry then they can do it anytime they want.
  15. I know quite a bit about comic value, keys, short print in demand comics and ratio variants. So yes out of my 6k comics the 4 or 5 short boxes of silver-modern would all bring in an elevated premium in the 9.8 and often 9.6 range. Best of luck. If you do end up sending them in, please post your results.
  16. I have the first leader to Maybe it's like the Match Game. Complete the sentence. I have the first leader to.... (Blank) Where's Charles Nelson Reilly when you need him?
  17. My father i law had some land with. A Barn on it he did t even know the comics were in there
  18. I don't think anyone expects perfection but some of the egregious issues we've recently seen should never have left their facility. It seems plausible that in some cases, the slabs were not inspected before they left Sarasota. What's even more disturbing is their lack of accountability in fixing those things that go wrong.
