I'm very doubtful. He was Asking $399.95 for a raw copy..... It did however disappear from eBay. I'm not sure why. Stuff sells on ebay all the time for prices which might seem high. However, a price that might seem high is subjective. We all value things differently. I see no reason why an item like this that doesn't show up very often couldn't have sold. In any event, I'm not sure why you care. You made an offer. The offer was countered. You didn't like that but that's life. Move on and forget about it. You seem to be on some kind of crusade, with whatever end goal I'm not sure, but it's making you look foolish. People can ask whatever they like. People can accept or reject whatever offers they like. If you never want to deal with the seller again that's your decision. If the seller never wants to deal with you that's his decision. Move on.

You can't always go by comparing it to other copies. There can be a variation in sizes based on the production quality of the time. I can't say if it's trimmed or not from a scan but I have seen plenty of old comics with a cut similar to that or even a more severe cut that were not trimmed.

Yeah, it's not that unusual on older books. Charltons are famous for it but that's because they didn't appear to have any sort of quality control. Check out the staple placement on my ASM 27 (complete with reading crease along the staple line)

A few I got from a comic shop probably 20 years ago. They came from an OO collection. They look very good but the pics hide some of the NCB bumps. These are probably in the 9.0-9.2 range without pressing.
