  1. Well, it depends on the defects and whether they are pressable defects or not. You could press a comic with stains and a piece out of the cover and then it would (possibly) look like a nicer comic with stains and a piece out of the cover but would the grade actually improve?
  2. They're the ones on ebay with the keyword spam stating CGC IT!!!!
  3. Haven't you heard? It's not a "hobby." Comics, serious business
  4. I bought something from Bayside NY and I live in central CT. I could drive to Bayside in just over an hour and a half. (sans traffic issues) My package went from Bayside NY to the Jersey City NJ dist center. It sat there for about 3 1/2 days. It then took three days (three days!!) to travel from the dist center in Jersey City to the Springfield Mass dist center. (did they send it by horse and buggy?) Bear in mind to travel from Jersey City to Springfield Mass, the package bypassed my local post office and in fact bypassed CT entirely It then went from the Springfield Mass dist center to the Southern Connecticut dist center (which is south of where I live so the package went right by me and once again bypassed my local PO) From the Southern Connecticut dist center it made it's way to my PO and then to my doorstep This all took 10 days. Like I said, I could have driven to the package starting point in about an hour and a half but USPS took 10 days to deliver it to my house. I think they could benefit from embracing LEAN concepts.
  5. I was the OP and being sarcastic. I thought the ““ made that clear. I’d like to see the sellers response to that suggested PM Next time use more smilies to improve clarity
  6. We can, and do, welcome the discussion but a true discussion has many different voices and many different opinions. However, not all of those voices are going to be supportive of your position, or mine. That doesn't mean there is no value in the discussion.
  7. Sometimes it's worthwhile to question things, though I get the sense I'm in the minority here. You're right. There is absolutely no problem having the discussion.
  8. No, it shouldn't, and you can't simply ignore 18 years of board history. If you want the discussion then you need the historical background.
  9. I fully realize it can be frustrating to see a book priced unreasonably high but I respect anyone's right to set whatever price they want. No one has a responsibly (seriously, a responsibility?) to do anything and no one is forcing you to buy it. Historically, on this board, it's been frowned upon to 'threadcrap' in someone's sales thread. And complaining openly about pricing in their thread is threadcrapping. However, the tone of this board has changed over the years but I still think that it's a richard move to to these things openly in a sales thread. Send them a PM or post in the thread shown below.
  10. A one post wonder named flipper112 asking about "investing" in comics.
  11. Now there's a phrase I've never heard before Get out of my head!
  12. As I said, many. Here are a few. To be fair many people have had no issue with them.
  13. I'm glad they treated you fairly but they don't have a very good rep on these boards. There have been many, many discussions about them over the years.
  14. I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. The artist must move his hand around the book to sign. Could a crease be created? Probably. But when you're asking 94-year-old men like John Romita to sign a comic book, you can't expect him to have a perfectly steady hand. I'd be willing to put more credence to your post after you learn the ropes around here. People with six posts shouldn't come here and pontificate. I must have lurked for 2 - 3 weeks before I worked up the nerve to post. Watch and learn, grasshopper. He's not new. He's been here far longer than you have.
