  1. Alright. That did it. You fellows have lured me into this thread so I want no subsequent complaints as I work through the posting of scans of my ten centers. Where though should I start? A cat title perhaps? Here then is the indomitable, irrepressible Felix!
  2. Quick, break it out of its slab before it becomes an expensive habit!
  3. Excellent Adventure book, it looks freshly printed! Yes, but most incredibly that one is from 1956!
  4. For comparison's sake, how many Brave & Bold 28s are there in 9.0 and above in the CGC census versus the comparative figures for Showcase 22, Fantastic Four 1 and Amazing Fantasy 15?
  5. I'm still hoping warehouse finds of these and other DC titles from the fifties to the early sixties remain to be discovered!
  6. I think it`s relatively easy, actually. I think B&B 29 & 30, Showcase 8, 13, 14, 17 & 22 are harder. Just for sh*ts and giggles: link us up some of the easy to find B&B 28s in higher grade. I know there's an 8 out there.....and some 6-7s. But they are all few and far between. Try to compare that to the voluminous list of higher grade Avengers 1s. I'll have to respectfully disagree that it's easy to find a bunch of high grade B&B 28s. RELATIVELY easy. It`s all relative. I would say that more B&B 28s in 9.0 and above have come up for sale in the last 10 years much more often than the other books I`ve listed, except for Showcase 22 and that`s a recent phenomenon. Also, my comment about being relatively easy was in relation to DCs. Marvels are a different planet. There`s no such thing as a scarce SA Marvel, particularly one as late as Avengers 1. I agree with tth2 on all points, plus I'd add Showcase 23 - 29 and Brave & the Bold 31-33 to the list of comics from the same time period that are tougher to find than Brave & the Bold 28. (thumbs u
  7. I'm still eating through my Halloween stash: I can't afford to leave it for long for there are other dangerous predators eager to make short work of my haul:
  8. soft corners, miswrap and distributor ink - someone just had to own the only 9.6. The mind boggles. Well, if the label is worth that much to the buyer, who am I to question it? To each his own. In any event, the #8 was the first Justice League comic I ever read and here I am, still a fan of the JLA and the other Julius Schwartz titles to this very day.
  9. I disagree. it's all about buying what you like and paying no more than the comic is worth to you. If you do that, then the market can do what it will and you'll still be happy with your purchase. If you're looking for an investment, comics aren't a good one. They're far too illiquid, meaning there's far too big a spread between bid and ask prices. Stocks and mortgages as broad asset classes look pretty good right now. They're cheap in comparison with the overall level of interest rates.
  10. Here I am with a portion of my Halloween haul: Unfortunately, The MAN says I have to share with Deuce and Cowboy:
  11. No doubt about that. Her comic collection can't possibly compare with yours.
  12. Cool makeup! Did you host a party at your house though? I see a different couple in the last shot.
  13. Heeeee, heeeee, heeeee! By this time tomorrow I'll be right in my element!
  14. I don't plan to make any changes to my time tested Halloween itinerary. I'll start off the evening by trick or treating. Once I fill a couple of pillowcases, I call it quits. After getting my share of the goodies, I plan to roam the streets and terrorize the citizenry on this side of the tracks: I've been muscling up for several weeks now by eating plenty of Humpty Dumpty chips and Vachon Passion Flakies. Once everyone is cowering indoors in fear, I'll "borrow" a conveyance from someone's porch and go joy riding with my chauffeur Lilith until the wee hours! Then when I get home I immediately dive into my goodies!
  15. HOA = Housing Authority? And is that you in the picture? If so, that's wild cool! Two days to go!
  16. Go scary. You'll scare yourself before you scare the kids. Only three days to go!
  17. I've been the same. DC is my main focus but I buy the occasional batch of Harveys - Casper, Spooky, Wendy, Hot Stuff, Felix the Cat, Little Audrey and Little Dot in my case. Richie Rich though I absolutely can't abide. Here are scans of four more of my Little Audrey comics:
  18. I remember that catalogue! I bought a few things from it at the time but in retrospect I should have pulled out all stops to load up the truck. You seem to have bought a lot of Giants yourself though. Is that the case? Did they look cheap to you compared with the other listings?
  19. I have not seen this issue before. I posted some more Black Cats on this page: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5160883&fpart=4
  20. Nice comics! But what do you mean by "off the rack"? Are you the original owner?
  21. Wow! Spectacular run of Spooky Spooktowns!
