  1. The wear up and down the spine is identical to me. Can you be specific about one spot anywhere that's different?
  2. Same stains, same staple problems, same tears... but, sure, other than that, totally different books. LOL
  3. That may well be true... but it's like a guy who sold me my first stereo said, back in 1980... "to get 90% of the highest quality stereo sound, it'll cost you $1000. To get that last 10%... it'll cost you ten times that... or more." Here's a before and after of the heat press results in comic pressing... it's not perfect... but it would definitely increase the grade of the comic, don't you think?
  4. It could do with a press to fix the spine roll... but maybe that's just like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. LOL... I'm thinking 1.0? or is that hoping?
  5. Somebody might be able to get a good result placing a comic under a heated anvil on the hood of an Audi.
  6. It's not a plus, but it's less of a drag in my experience for lower graded copies like yours. We had a guy in here who got what he THOUGHT was an unrestored FF1 CGC'd, it came back purple at 4.0 IIRC. He had the restoration removed, and despite the cover looking like someone had taken a sharp edge to it... which they had... it came back a 3.5 unrestored. THAT was worth the extra money. Yours... probably not. And depending on where the color touch is and how much there is, CCS may decline to remove it. That's happened to me on a few books. FYI. If it were me, I'd hang onto it until I was ready to upgrade. And when you sell, IMHO you'll still make money on your book... somebody recently spent $360 on a 3.0 (R) FF48. So, win win!
  7. I'll throw in my 2 cents worth... that mailer would be great if it's going Priority Mail, as you can fit it into their legal envelope. And I use Priority Mail for items costing more than $50, because of the insurance option, so I might have to consider it going forward for that.. For 1-4 comics, not insured, after trying a few different things, I use these: https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-2220/Stay-Flat-Mailers/Tab-Locking-Kraft-StayFlats-5-9-3-4-x-12-1-4 About 40 cents a pop... can hold up to 4 comics staying under a pound, so you can use First Class Mail. I wrap the books in bubble wrap and then insert into the mailer. That way, they don't need to be taped down, as the bubble wrap holds them secure. (I tape the ends of the wrap) Have gotten only positive feedback from buyers. FYI... YMMV.
  8. God bless you, Stan, for the happiness you gave to the 11-year-old boy inside us all. May the good Lord rest you and keep you, and comfort the loved ones you leave behind. Which are many.
  9. Not gonna venture my grade yet, OR share the grade the seller claimed... I don't wish to prejudice the jury.
  10. The cover... would a dry cleaning help? It's kind of dark... but I don't know if that can be dealt with or would be worth it. My guess as is...
  11. Just for the practice, as someone who needs to get better at this, I will make my guess here...
  12. How about the value of the books that were intentionally disappeared? The mind boggles.
  13. What difference does a batch of 15 or more make in the price? Have I missed something? AGAIN?!?!
  14. I sent it for prescreening for pressing, but also asked about the sticker removal. I'm guessing not. Altho I don't think it's safe to press without removing the sticker. Honestly, I don't know. As anyone around here can tell you, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. LOL
  15. Nope... actually, it may be my only significant DC comic! Can't even recall how I got it... but I'll take it. Thanks!
  16. I'm gonna make my prediction here, to see if I'm getting better at this... dammit. LOL
  17. Grade is in... got an 8.0. I thought the crease on the back would take it to a 6.0 for sure. Very pleased.
