  1. Oh, it's the Immediate Payment function being referred to. Yeah, I'm very familiar with that, just never heard it called automatic payment. And even when you don't have it set, eBay will force it anyway. As mentioned above, eBay is more and more requiring a payment method in place for bidding and offers. It's a mixed bag, because while it may be preventing some instances of nonpayment, it is a speed bump for sales and combining shipping. Pick your poison, I guess.
  2. Where is that setting located? I don't think I knew you could control how/when people paid. This requires you to invoice before they can pay?
  3. The notation refers to it being a Danish Edition, which it does not appear to be. I think it has been placed there in error. You could contact Customer Service to get it corrected at no cost to you. https://www.reddit.com/r/comicswap/comments/17k2huj/usaz_h_amazing_spiderman_238_rare_danish_edition/?rdt=57531
  4. You don't really want to do all separate posts. You can group them by whatever makes sense, such as price, or story arc. That way you could have a dozen or more on a single post that says $10 each, or 5 for $40. Check the For Sale categories for people putting up large sales, and copy that. Like maybe this one:
  5. Looks to be a replica #98 cover installed on the inner pages of True Believers Deadpool #1. Probably made intentionally to deceive.
  6. Yeah, not NM in my opinion. Saying it's Brand New leaves them in a bad defensive position. New but damaged or worn is not "Brand New". They are wide open for a Not As Described claim, if it comes to that.
  7. Yes, get in touch with Customer Service. They will send you a shipping label for an M.E. return and correction.
  8. Happens a lot. You would see that from other threads if you did a search. Or the various other QC shortfalls....
  9. The "proposed" $5,000 reporting threshold is for Tax Year 2024, forms to be sent in 2025. Nothing to do with Tax Year 2023.
  10. If you sold multiple things during the year, you could alternatively report as a small business under Schedule C. You may be better able to include expenses related to the sales, such as storage, professional fees, grading costs, shipping, utilities, etc. The net profit will be added to your earned income, but depending on your circumstances, the tax rate may be lower. Capital Gains on Collectibles is at a higher rate than general Capital Gains. But always get tax advice from a tax professional.
  11. As others have mentioned, any person directly affected by the scam has had limited options from the beginning. You don't even know if you have a swapped book for sure without releasing it to CGC to make that determination. It's always been a Catch 22. Normally, I would advise riding it out with CGC, and if you are dissatisfied with the compensation, look at your legal options at that time. Unless you had to waive any right to seek just compensation as part of the review process, which wouldn't surprise me, and may have already been discussed. If so, someone would have to challenge that. It's possible that being forced to give up your future rights might void the agreement. The problem is that CGC and the affected parties need each other in order to proceed, but only CGC determines the compensation. Totally one sided, and that's wrong.
  12. I don't think it's a manufacturing flaw. Your photos and the CGC photos look similar, so I don't think it is pulling away any more than when graded, but could just be a bit loose, or look better or worse depending on the angle and lighting.
  13. I think a 9.4 is generous, but within the realm of possibility. If there is anything at all wrong with the back cover, that would make it even more generous. What I think is odd is that the majority of the front cover is relatively free of defects, compared to the heavier than usual wear and tear at the staples. You would expect more general, even wear. The spine has pronounced staple stress and a few spine tics, but with very little edge wear, no creases.
  14. Looks a bit ragged to me. Would have to see the rest of the cover to get a full impression for a fair assessment.
  15. As above, it should say whatever the publisher put in the Indicia on the publication page. It would help if you knew exactly what it says there - maybe someone can fill in that missing factoid. They did designate the Special Edition, which helps to be more specific. If you are not happy with the way it was produced, you could contact Customer Service, state your case, and get their take on it.
  16. They won't acknowledge that it is signed. It will get a green Qualified label with a notation that says "Writing on the Cover".
  17. I'll say it again, it's not true. I can tell you are not speaking from the experience of an informed seller, because you would not make such an absolute statement. Unless the Seller approves the return, there is a good chance there will be no return. If the seller accepts returns, well, he has no option but to accept the return. I have had people try to return things that they "changed their mind about", "found it cheaper", etc. I don't approve those returns. About a third of the time it is forced by the credit card company, and eBay reimburses the buyer, but they don't take my funds. The other 2/3 of the time, the purchase stands. So please don't give people the wrong impression that anything they buy on eBay can be returned. It's false.
  18. This is not true. If a seller's return policy is Returns Not Accepted, you have to request a Return. If you have a legit reason, such as Significantly Not As Described, arrived damaged, arrived with parts missing, wrong item, etc., the seller should accept your request. If he doesn’t, eBay will force the Return. If you are returning for no legit reason, like Buyer's Remorse, the seller is not obligated to accept the Return. And eBay will side with the Seller. You may be able to get your credit card company to force the return, which shouldn't happen, but frequently does. Because they can. Right or wrong doesn't matter to them.
  19. I believe a person was already found to be guilty of fraud when he substituted lower grade coins into higher grade certified cases. It's as close to a match in precedent as you can get. It's certainly a fraud to remove the expensive inner workings of a Rolex, substitute a knock-off into the case, and sell it as authentic. Same thing. If you intentionally "trick" someone out of their money, it's a form of theft called fraud. Seems pretty clear.
  20. Definitely a fraud to switch out a 3rd party graded, authenticated comic of lower grade into a case of a higher grade. The buyer is relying on the authority of the grading company as being an accurate assessment of the grade and authenticity of the comic, as well as it being the exact copy that was graded. To tamper with a certified anything is misrepresentation. For you, as the seller, accidentally swapping out comics, the buyer is not relying on a 3rd party opinion. He has his own opinion, and can also take your opinion into consideration. If he is comfortable with the comic and what he is paying for it, that's a legit situation. Two completely unrelated scenarios.
  21. I think if it's obvious it was made that way, it will probably be ignored.
