  3. You strike me as a "gentlemanly journeyman" who "Benignly Lowballs" , "Benignly Underestimates" , "Benignly Undervalues" , "Benignly Underreckons" and "Benignly Underreports". https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Ftenor.com%2Fsearch%2Fdicaprio-django-gifs&psig=AOvVaw2kbMFYH6EnSaD2GaBbQ2-e&ust=1632014692271000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAgQjRxqFwoTCJiYhtKuh_MCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAI
  4. I just did a search on HA and his works over the past couple of years for single pieces have sold in the $1600 to $18000+ range. I'm not sure what the term "journeyman" means but I have a feeling it's an archaic English Language word and has nothing to do with North American art in the year 2021....
  5. 😃😃😃Let me blow the dust off my history books. Did this happen when minimum wage was $3.35 an hour and an acre of land in California was $4500? Wake up, Rip Van Kringle! It's 2021!😃😃😃
  6. Will this page set a record for a Pat Broderick non-cover, non-splash page? I say yes. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/pat-broderick-and-john-tartaglione-master-of-kung-fu-70-page-10-original-art-marvel-1978-/a/322138-49033.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515
  7. A very cool Fred Ray piece from 1951 just went up for auction. It was featured in Superman Salutes The Bicentennial oversized comic book. Fred Ray was not just a great comic book artist. He was a highly trained and well-respected fine artist from Harrisburg, Pa. If you ever have time to crawl into a rabbit hole, check out the history of artists who trained in the eastern Pennsylvania area from the late 1800's to the mid 1900's. It's like a who's who of American art! Ray studied under, worked beside and was colleagues with some of the greatest artists in American history. His historic pieces are in museums all over the world. He's always been one of my favorites. If you own one of his pieces, please feel welcome to show it off here. I always enjoy seeing his art. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/fred-ray-valley-forge-original-art-ray-1951-/a/322138-49197.s?ic4=ListView-Thumbnail-071515
  8. I'm guessing we're in a little lull here because everyone is monitoring the late summer auctions. I hope these questions are not too distracting but they are directed towards the experienced collectors and graders- Are there different degrees of fading in comic book grading? If so, how are they measured? Thanks! PS-This is X1 related as I am in the process of upgrading and I need info.
  9. I learn something new everyday on these boards. I had no idea there were different green versions. I wish I could go back in time I bought my X1 in the pre CGC days and fading was my numero uno rule for "do not buy" I HATED seeing a faded comic and the dealers would sometimes have them bagged and taped onto the front store window facing the sun for weeks at a time yikes but I digress and I'm showing my age here. Point is- I wonder how many lime greens I passed on as I was upgrading and as I continue to upgrade I have new knowledge and thanks for the info, my friends.
  10. Agreed. IMO X-Men #1 is still a strong "buy and hold".
  11. Any guesses as to what this would grade at CGC?
  12. Don't do it, Doodlebug! Get rid of that hat!!!!!!!!! Keep the shoes, tho. They're you.
  13. Is this, like, her first husband buried in the back yard?
  14. Not sure if this is funny or creepy.
