He's on a horse? Wat? Who is this guy? This makes no sense to me. Is this a new movie coming out next year? Or a disnee TV show?

I just throw them into a small Itoya. The size I picked holds color guides. Everything else sort of slides around.

Then I suggest you go to Comic Art Tracker. Oodles of his stuff for under $500.
Journeyman is not archaic. Look it up. Reliable and Competent, but not brilliant. You strike me as a "gentlemanly journeyman" who "Benignly Lowballs" , "Benignly Underestimates" , "Benignly Undervalues" , "Benignly Underreckons" and "Benignly Underreports".

He gets the job done. I think of him more as a journeyman. Nothing wrong with that,
There was once a whole Fury of Firestorm for sale with the Phantom Stranger in it which sold for about $ 1,100, as I recall. One page would have been enough to satisfy my completist needs, so I passed.
I just did a search on HA and his works over the past couple of years for single pieces have sold in the $1600 to $18000+ range. I'm not sure what the term "journeyman" means but I have a feeling it's an archaic English Language word and has nothing to do with North American art in the year 2021....

Broderick was one of the first artists I learned to recognize as a kid in the early 80s, seeing his work in short order on Micronauts, LSH, and Firestorm. When I think of him, I think of circles, a rounded look as if the figures had been poured from plastic. I was pleased to pick up a couple of his action panel pages in the past, so I hope the price stays low, not that my hopes have any bearing on what will actually transpire.
Nice! Thanks for posting.

😃😃😃Let me blow the dust off my history books. Did this happen when minimum wage was $3.35 an hour and an acre of land in California was $4500? Wake up, Rip Van Kringle! It's 2021!😃😃😃

Will this page set a record for a Pat Broderick non-cover, non-splash page? I say yes.

A very cool Fred Ray piece from 1951 just went up for auction. It was featured in Superman Salutes The Bicentennial oversized comic book. Fred Ray was not just a great comic book artist. He was a highly trained and well-respected fine artist from Harrisburg, Pa. If you ever have time to crawl into a rabbit hole, check out the history of artists who trained in the eastern Pennsylvania area from the late 1800's to the mid 1900's. It's like a who's who of American art! Ray studied under, worked beside and was colleagues with some of the greatest artists in American history. His historic pieces are in museums all over the world. He's always been one of my favorites. If you own one of his pieces, please feel welcome to show it off here. I always enjoy seeing his art.

Is there a company that grades Marvel Treasury size comics?

X-men 1 - Double your pleasure, double your fun. There are two color variants of this book – dark green and lite green. I find both colors appealing.

Question to consider? Check out my facebook page share your answer and?

I'm guessing we're in a little lull here because everyone is monitoring the late summer auctions. I hope these questions are not too distracting but they are directed towards the experienced collectors and graders- Are there different degrees of fading in comic book grading? If so, how are they measured? Thanks! PS-This is X1 related as I am in the process of upgrading and I need info.
-
I learn something new everyday on these boards. I had no idea there were different green versions. I wish I could go back in time I bought my X1 in the pre CGC days and fading was my numero uno rule for "do not buy" I HATED seeing a faded comic and the dealers would sometimes have them bagged and taped onto the front store window facing the sun for weeks at a time yikes but I digress and I'm showing my age here. Point is- I wonder how many lime greens I passed on as I was upgrading and as I continue to upgrade I have new knowledge and thanks for the info, my friends.

Prices go up and prices go down and eventually up over time. There will always be non collectors buying and selling nothing new.
X-Men 1 is not a rare book but is hard to locate in 9.0 and higher. Even lower grades will not go back to previous year values. Like I said over time they trend upwards.
Agreed. IMO X-Men #1 is still a strong "buy and hold".

Any guesses as to what this would grade at CGC?

C'Link results 7/29 (since they don't appear in GPA).
2.0 OW/W (UK) $7100
5.0 OW/W $23,750
6.0 OW $38,000
8.5 OW/W $105,000
Hmm.... prices are just a little bit down from May/June. I am guessing that the discoloration on the 6.0 and the corner crease on the 8.5 probably were factors. They're still beautiful books.
Someone got a great deal!
