  1. Iron Maiden members being interviewed in a comic shop for british TV show 20th Century Box in 1980 - xcreened in 1981; viewable on youtube It seems likely this would be "Dark They Were And Golden Eyed" due to it;s proximity to the Marquee club also featured - but I can't see their familiar price stickers on the books - had they stopped stickering copies by late 1980? - a little befiore my time.
  2. Hey Kids!, for an Extra shilling we won't stamp it on his bulbous forehead!
  3. Here's my copy - bought this off Mile High back in 2013 - they'd just listed it and had no picture so I had to take a chance that it wasn't a version of the Bob Kane biography - there was just enough detail to say it was the comic and not the book. $160 but in the 50% off sale at the time so $80 - would have happily paid full price for this rare item - and I would have bid up and hopefully won the copy the original poster listed but I didn't see the thread until after it was sold - the outer mailer cover being intact would have made a nice upgrade
  4. Having now viewed it - no more shots of the stand unfortunately but there's a further dating example later in the film where a kid on a park bench is reading the below copy of The Victor - #245 cover dated 30th October 1965 - I don't imagine a CFF film would have been shooting for more than a couple of weeks - if so then this would muddy the water a little more as that would mean the US comics are on the stand in October - a couple of months later than anticipated
  5. 10d on the Avengers - you'll see it when you watch it on TV - it's in the same place as the various copies on ebay
  6. This is the Adventures Into The unknown (#152) that appears in the 3rd picture before being tidied out of shot subsequently & it's possibly the oldest on screen with a cover date of Oct/Nov 1964
  7. I looked up the 3 Dells that are visible - The Toka #2 is an outlier with a Nov '64 /Jan '65 cover date; The F.B.I. one-shot and World War Stories #1 are both listed on Mike's Amazing World as Apr/Jun 1965 @Get Marwood & I There's a Fantastic four and Rawhide Kid on the furthest stand visible in the last photo - above and below the F.B.I. comic
  8. British Film "Operation Third Form" features these stands full of American comics - an official Thorpe & Porter stand at that - should interest@Get Marwood & I
  9. I assumed they were fairly common and well known they are random by the look of it as my volume 2 is completely different - It must have been Comag who produced these - the rebound issues in volume 1 include 40p stickered copies of New format titles - direct market only in the US but in the newsagents over here. The issues are trimmed into the format with all 3 edges recut - you can see diagonal marks from top to bottom where the blade has cut across the volume after binding. The Back cover advertises various DC and Comico titles available monthly from newsagents which is why I believe they were produced officially by the UK distributor as Wikipedia says Comico partnered with DC over distribution in 1989 so that removes the idea that it's an odd pairing that might hint at something unofficial . the inside covers are blank and there is no price, I don't recall seeing them on sale at the time, but then I don't recall seeing Comico titles in newsagents either. The list of titles on the back of the 2 issues doesn't vary - Legion '89 is one so that's the time frame contents of my copies vol. 1 Forever People #1, Firestorm #70, Flash #11, Green Arrow #3, Superman #16, Green Lantern Corps #223, World Of Krypton #2, Peacemaker #4, Flash #5, Blue Beetle # 23 Vol. 2 Wonder Woman #22, Justice League International #19, Flash #18, Starman #2, Suicide Squad #19, Power Of The Atom #10, Mister Miracle # 3, Adventures Of Superman #452, Superman #28, Firestorm #83
  10. Gammarauders #6 August 1989 on ebay today with CGC acknowledging the Survey
  11. To the right of US Camera magazine is Minicam Photography July 1945
  12. to the right of Wink Cartoon humor - Summer 1945 - I had guessed at the title but couldn't find this one online and there it was on MCS again; the woman's foot and the man's body and head are visible in the bottom left corner
  13. that's Dr. Happy Tooth - very scarce hence it being up there but not golden age
  14. Asia and The Americas Magazine - to the left of the Atlas Shelf https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/asia-magazine-1945-jan-dec-china-1883136134
  15. Popular Western Sept - to the right of Lariat both guns visible and the angle of the W up to the 10c box
  16. Looks right - here's a better copy but the missing part from the other image is out of sight anyway
  17. I think this one might be even trickier - it's quite curved to the right hand side
  18. Glad to get this one out of the way as the large format items on the top shelf have been bugging me Cram's Global War Atlas
  19. This one is tricky because the magazine looks like it's creased in the photo and the light reflecting off the girls hair makes it look light, I think this is the magazine above Motion Picture Magazine
  20. The Last Visible Magazine on the right hand end of the the music mags is the bottom right issue in the picture below
  21. I'd say go for it - you can always change it if another scan turns up and for some reason the color isn't uniform; by the way , now the 10 story love is in place it's evident that the small piece of cover in the corner is another copy of the Romance pulp in front
  22. last one for tonight - below the Front Page Detective - Latest Hit songs July 1945
  23. This one I.m not 100% on - looks right, for the book behind "Romance" plulp you have the shape of the L, the 10 in the circle to the left, the girl's hair overlapping the v & the e and the story title text is proportionate - see what you think
