  1. Barcodes were run on The New Teen Titans 37-40 as well as The Legion of Super-Heroes 40-43 I believe - I have a few but not all of these issues, I'm not sure if copies exist for these issues without the barcode. so were they a newsstand experiment ?
  2. some of the 1990 DC annuals - Legion '90 and Hawk and Dove at least and stumbled across this one today looking for something else
  3. Another homage from a different publisher - this one was highlighted on the GCD page today
  4. As that linked thread says I posted the first picture of the newsstand 2nd. print to the CPG forum - in a thread called something like "hey earl - dc giveaways"- I know Jerome Wenker at least initially thought it was a Photoshop effort when he mentioned it on STL forum so it had to be the only reference to it out there at the time, funnily enough given recent discussions it was a random 2nd print supplied by mycomicshop.com .
  5. The 1960's action comics 1000 cover and this Animal man are the only ones I can recall but I'm sure there have been others
  6. The only Dell Pence copy I have Dell Giant 33 2/-
  7. 1991 edition according to this page https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/wcm/ComicCustomSetGallery.aspx?s=19251 It's got the UK price which the 1992 50c black price box lacks
  8. I did see it on the bay as part of a mid eighties dc style guide set - it's also reused on the outer card cover for the Kenner Super Powers Toyfair giveaway ( also very scarce ) see here for examples: https://atomicavenue.com/atomic/issue/329675/Super-Powers-1st-Series-5-Variation http://www.milehighcomics.com/cgi-bin/backissue.cgi?action=fullsize&issue=83484802592 1
  9. Extremely rare especially considering it's recent vintage - this is only the 3rd. copy I've heard of - this will be a useful opportunity to learn of any more.
  10. The full contents for anyone with a copy to compare with in case there are variants Monogram "I'm Car-Azy" Free T-Shirt advert (IFC) - this has the only editorial material in the book as at the bottom of the page it has for advertising space contact details. Saturday's the Place CBS advert (starting 15-09-84) Huffy - crank up the power of pro Thunder advert Bonkers fruit candy advert Frogger colecoVision advert M&M's - Olympic Heroes trading cards advert Bachmann a Powerhouse of fun advert Bubble Yum unscramble the fun advert Saturday Morning NBC double page advert (CF) Revell - Think Dirty advert Find your way to the Newtons advert Reese's Pieces "Etagramulfabetz" advert Honeycomb Cereal Sportstakes advert Matchbox 3 pack (75 free puffy Stickers) advert Masters Of The Universe Videogame Intellivision advert Noxzeme Acne 21 advert Nabisco Brands: How to write with a candy bar advert (IBC) Kenner: Super Powers advert (BC)
  11. I have a copy - mine came from a DC editor, my copy was the one Ian became aware of and added it to his want list There are no comics at the centre - there is a double page Saturday cartoons ad (Unless they printed more than one version over the years?). I don't know if Ian ever found a copy Survival rate on this is likely to be low as there is virtually no reason for anyone at the time to have kept it There used to be an entry for it on the Grand comic database but it seems to have gone - It didn't really qualify for inclusion anyway..
  12. I have now noticed that New Talent showcase went newsstand from Issue 7 to at least issue 13 - so these should also be added to the list of potential DC CNS; on the other hand - this oddity I spotted on Mile high where the newsstand edition of Who's Who... issue 17 has a newsstand UPC but incorrectly retains the direct market triple currency pricing may mean that no CNS edition exists for this issue.
  13. Interesting also that the set contains the Batman The Collected Adventures vol.1 TPB in the bottom window which is not mentioned on the sticker - actually second thoughts - that's probably the bottom line which I thought was part of the Mask of The Phantasm adaptation description
  14. You're welcome - I joined up a long time back but didn't come on here again for years - I love finding obscure DC items - much more interesting than run of the mill books - so when I can help with info. I do
  15. This Set was on the bay a couple of years back - has Batman Adventures 14 & 16 - the #16 pictured is a second print - this is also the set where the coloring book in comic format originates
  16. Ian Levine was told by DC that it was never issued, but a small qty. turned up on ebay over ten years ago in sealed toys - old shop stock with price stickers on so they clearly did have some distribution - I bought one, it was in the Arak figure from the range. Each spine mark on that copy is where it is stitched so I suppose it could be defined as a manufacturing issue and excused by CGC? On the plus side the value is likely to reflect how scarcely it is offered - I can't say I've seen another copy come up since that batch so price guide values can be ignored. Overstreet still has it listed at $5!
  17. sorry can't help with that - picture is from an old ebay auction - not one I won - I personally haven't seen another ten pack but I'm not keeping as close an eye on these packs as others are.
  18. Is it known how many 10 packs were issued? was it a direct replacement for the 20 packs? If they began in December 1994 that could cover the recently found Aquaman 4
  19. Batman Adventures #21 - I brought this up a while back - the picture on the back of the Best of DC 1994 set does not match the book in the set - it has a bat logo in the UPC box - same variant as in the 20 pack for that month
  20. missing DC titles/issues: Firstorm: The nuclear Man 65-75 Funny Stuff Stocking Stuffer 1 Justice League International 7-17 , Annual 1+2 Mister Miracle Special 1 Nightforce 3-14 Rainbow Brite and The Star Stealer nn. Star Trek: The Next Generation 1-6 Supergirl movie Adaptation 1 Teen Titans Spotlight 1-21 Who's Who: The Definitive Directory Of The DC Universe 1-26 Who's Who Update '88 1+2 The Following listed Issues I believe were Direct Market only: 'Mazing Man 9-12; Special 1+2 (though I see these have been removed now - if anyone has evidence of either NS editions please bring it up) Atari Force Special 1 Blue beetle 22-24 Hawkman 16+17 Sword Of The Atom Special 3 Saga Of The Swamp Thing Annual 3 (Swamp thing Annual 3) Zatanna special 1 The following I am dubious of as although they all have US newsstand copies - It's possible the CNS edition would have dipped below some minimum Qty. threshold and hence not been printed - These are still valid listings until it can be proven one way or another- as they should exist in theory ( I have not seen a US newsstand of Angel Love #7 as yet but I have for all other issues of the title) Ambush Bug Stocking Stuffer 1; Angel Love 1-8; Doom Patrol And Suicide Squad Special 1; Hawkman 12-15; Heroes Against Hunger 1 I can't imagine that a CNS edition of Heroes against Hunger doesn't exist for example but I can believe Angel love would have been too low a print run to bother with. Those are my thoughts - anyone with corrections to my corrections; please chip in.
  21. Regarding your Caveat on the likelyhood of some Direct Market only issues being listed in error in the guide - I'm sure for example that 'Mazing Man was dropped as a newsstand title after Issue 8 and the two specials were also direct market only - If I put up a corrections list here perhaps people can chip in if they know different. - I have been assembling pictures for DC CNS and I have 1778 pictures out of what I suspect is a total of 2113 ( purely for my own reference of course).
  22. I've found the Mile High listing I mentioned - It's for Doc Savage #11 August 1989 - so there appears to be a two month Window Jul-Aug 1989 for this particular survey - so far 2 direct market titles only
  23. I mentioned another Survey version on the old STL forum when I started a thread about the 1978 survey - this one is in Dr. Fate #8 July 1989 ; I think when I checked mile high at the time for other issues from that month there was another title listed as a survey variant but not in stock. The Survey consists of a Letter, Survey form and Redemption card all inside the unsealed envelope which is glued into the page margin ; the envelope has a stamp on so this must have been very limited distribution due to the sheer expense involved. The reward for completing the survey is a Batman Movie Poster and Book, plus because the envelope is glued in you can claim a fresh copy of the comic in question.
