  1. I just found this thread and as the original posted books are mine, I suppose I should state my opinion. Personally I believe the "Enaintep Man" book should be labeled as follows... Σπάιντερ Μαν #164 [Spider Man #164] Kabanas Hellas 6/84 Greek Publication I think there should be a distinction between the comic Amazing Spiderman #252, and the story presented within. For example, how would you notate foreign editions that print stories from multiple US titles under one book? Under the current rules whatever the cover is would dictate what the label says. For example, I currently have a copy of "Hulk #45" published by Atlantic Förlag in the Netherlands. The book prints the story and cover presented in Incredible Hulk #285. But that's not the only story it publishes. It also prints Daredevil 181 (which I believe is in it's entirety). So the question I pose is what should the CGC label be for this book? The Incredible Hulk #285? Or Daredevil #181? Both stories are printed inside. The book is from 1984, so both issues had already been made available in the states at this point. The only distinguishing factor is that the foreign print has the cover for the Hulk book. What if my copy is coverless? What if another issue from the same run has a completely redone cover? What about the Brazilian run of "Secret Wars". The story was heavily edited, and at least one of the covers was completely redone. Is the story that Americans read and the story Brazilians read really the same story? Is it really correct to label it as such?
  2. I also want to stress that the speed of the scanner is very important to me. I don't want to have to wait 3 or 4 minutes just to scan a cover. 🙂
  3. Hi, I've recently been thinking about putting more time into ebay and really go gung-ho with selling books. My question is does anyone have any suggestions on scanner printer combos that can make good clean scans, as well as scan slabs? And most importantly scan quickly? Thanks to anyone who has suggestions
  4. I can't even compare to what some other people have, but this is my top 10. The Doctor Who book is signed by David Tennant.
  5. 3 more foreign Secret Wars books back from CGC and into the collection.
  6. And the book is back! After a full press and 3 months of wait. It dropped down by a whole grade which is unfortunate, but it seems the price is rising on this book and I consider it to be a more accurate grade.
  7. I have recently been expanding my hobby into foreign books, and was wondering how CGC goes about labeling books like the one pictured below. I assume my local comic shop can't search this book in the system, so how would I go about grading it?
  8. I I'll have to do some research, but I remember "The Queens Gambit" has a scene with a comic book spinner rack with a bunch of 90s books. The scene takes place in the 60s-70s.
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong, but i believe you can request the blue label, and they will grade the book accordingly.
  10. I'm gonna have to say that's probably just random marker marks
  11. I'm actually interested in people's opinions on this. At first my knee jerk reaction was to think that this was kind of stupid. But on second thought this isn't much different to buying regular stocks and I could see people's interest in it.
  12. It depends on my purpose for buying the book. If I'm buying it to read, usually I'll just purchase an already opened copy. If I'm buying the comic for any other reason I'll always keep it sealed. I'd consider a polybagged comic in a mylar more well preserved than cutting one open and having it graded, as that's how it was originally presented on the shelf.
  13. I recently came across a copy of Uncanny X-Men #311 with a "Rock Video Monthly" insert. I have found very little information on these other than they seem to only be found in books from April of 1994 and that CGC will note it on their labels. Who else has a copy of this book or any other book with this insert? Is it included in all copies of these books? So far examples have been found in:- Spider-Man #45- Uncanny X-Men #311- Venom: The Enemy Within #3- Wolverine #80
  14. For anyone curious the book is currently a PGX 4.5. I'm probably still gonna crack it open to get it graded by CGC since I prefer them. I'm curious to see what it will come back as for comparison between the two companies.
  15. Hopefully these pics help a little. They are lit a bit better. The page quality is cream to off-white according to the slab.
  16. I'll take some more photos and let you guys know the page quality as soon as I get home from work. I'll try to make sure they are as well lit as possible.
  17. I'm thinking of cracking open this book and having it regraded. Was wondering what grade you guys think it might be and weather it might benefit from a press. I don't have a scanner that will scan graded books so hopefully the pictures do the book justice.
  18. What I did was I got a witnesses phone number and then when I got towards the front of the line I texted him and let him know I was towards the front.
  19. They were like this for all newsstand editions for this issue. As well as a couple other different titles. I knew someone who had a theory that perhaps this issue wasn't approved by the CCA because this issue was definitely more hard core than previous issues.
  20. Sleeving? Do you mean slabbing? Its definitely worth keeping in a bag and board.
