  1. I am so curious to see if the bidding frenzy we saw in the first go-round was a one and done phenomenon, or if that same level of competition will follow these books thru to the bitter end. I don't see this next round having the same class of books as the first round, so that will get factored in, I'm sure.
  2. Only 7 Promise books in the upcoming weekly heritage: 6 star spangleds, and I don’t remember the other
  3. What, and miss out on all the fun of hoping the book doesn’t get lost or crunched in transit??
  4. Well it’s a story of sadness and heartbreak. The cover is unattached at the staples and slipped down in the cgc case. It upset me so much I couldn’t even look at it anymore. Thought about selling it, but decided to give reholdering a try. So I went from this to this
  5. Not to mention they printed this book upside down! hey that’s a great copy of a great book!
  6. I just got the scans CGC made when they reholdered the book. It almost blinded me Sort of makes me want to buy the book all over again i guess I better reholder all my books just so I can get CGCs flattering scans
  7. Even on the Promise Collection books, I've noticed disparities in auctions results between Timely war covers and DCs. It might just be that Timely war covers are heating up, and that pedigree copies are on fire. I'm sure all my friends here would agree: You should totally send your book thru the Heritage weekly auction so we could all know for sure. Think of it as a trial balloon sent up for the good of the hobby.
  8. I think it's a better deal Heritage is offering just on Promise Collection book resales
  9. Wow. That IS odd. I can’t speak to the mechanics of it, and can only say I dont believe it to be uncommon. Here’s a book of mine with the same problem. by the way cgc grades, they would consider it to be a manufacturing problem and not count it against the grade
  10. Thanks for answering. I’m looking at today’s heritage weekly, and I’m comparing Authentic Police to Teenage Romance. Just seems like the Romance has been bid up dramatically higher than the Authentic. I wondered if that is generally reflective of the market. I myself have both, and I never before noticed this large of a discrepancy. Maybe by the time the gavel comes down that discrepancy will have disappeared
  11. Forgive this off topic intrusion, but do baker romance covers get more respect than his crime covers?
  12. Sitting at $7500 (7 x Guide) with 9 hrs left before live bidding. It looks undergraded, so that may be the explanation
  13. @woowoothat seems like only yesterday!
  14. Couldn’t get a satisfactory iPhone pic, and I haven’t yet dragged out my scanner(which is the size of a small refrigerator). CGC will scan your book for a nominal fee, but I’m still waiting for them to send me the link. But truth to tell, there’s not much difference from the original scan
  15. BTW, I just got my Bat 1 back from being reholdered. It turned out well, but it was a nail biter waiting.
  16. 3 months ago CC's 8.0 went for 1.2 million. My guess would be $700k for a 6.5. I don't think the crypto guys were onboard yet, so really its who the heck knows. I guess we will soon know if a Bat 1 brings em out like the Promise Collection did. https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/batman-1-dc-1940-cgc-fn-65-off-white-pages/p/7246-55006.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515
  17. I’m surprised it’s not Collectibles Insurance Services, LLC
