  1. That’s what I thought. Only now mark wilson is wearing the white hat? dont have time to watch the whole video? Start at the 25 minute mark. It’s all you need to know
  2. Me too. Video games are the red light district of the collectibles market
  3. Ok @Mutie Fan my “like” above was a joke. there are approximately 395 pages of Gold topics dating back to 2003. I’m reading them all and by doing so am dropping in on approximately 20 year old conversations. It’s like a sci fi movie where the crew has all disappeared, but the dinner is laid out on the table and the coffee is still warm. it’s a fascinating trip backwards, and I’m learning the thoughts and the personalities of boardies long gone. Every now and then, if I’ve got something to say, I’ll bump an old thread. Boardies I thought had long gone will emerge blinking and scratching and saying “who dare disturbeth my sleep!!” And I’ve had the privilege to talk to “some of the old boardies who are still around”. Their 20 year old conversations reveal a sort of timeless knowledge and humor. it’s a deep dive I think many here would find fascinating
  4. @Cat-Man_America here’s your book and here’s the Promise Collection book. It looks like they were printed one right after the other. The missing green off the sleeve and pant leg of the lower right soldier is the same.
  5. I’ve been looking for this Peter panda ever since I found out it was Verzyls muse
  6. it’s an interesting piece. He blew off that other artist, nicely, who wanted to swap art. Classic Watterson. The artistic equivalent of J.D. Salinger. Just a guess, but I’ll say $7500
  7. That’s definitely GGA. And unless you count Little Orphan Annie, I declare this . . .
  8. This is in Heritage’s next big auction. I’ve looked at it many times, and much as I love the gag, the browning overpowers me. Still, it remains on the radar . . . it’s currently at $23k with 18 days left, and it’ll probably hit $50k. It pains me to think about, years ago, passing on a Sunday strip thinking $20k was too much
  9. I've read where Young Romance #1 is considered to be the first romance book. Is there a consensus as to the first appearance of Good Girl Art? Or is this an impossible question, with just too many examples that could be considered GGA?
  10. There are a few interesting things offered over here (my greedy side refuses to say which, exactly), but there’s so much noise going on over at Heritage that I may sneak away with a few things under the radar. Then again, youse guys are probably hiding in the all grass, waiting to spring
  11. Seriously. It’s a .5 in the other guys holder. $200 k
  12. 20 years later it’s still not a great deal. I doubt anyone paying $100k 20 years ago for what turns out to be cold title would disagree
  13. And the models couldn’t have much liked how it worked out for them. You know the young ladies below got their wake up call somewhere in their lives, when they figured it out
  14. that you'll never find. Batman is DC and Cap is Timely, and never the twain shall meet
  15. What drives me nuts is the inconsistency. One note for one book might indicate bindery tears and rusty staple, and the next grader note from a book with the same defects will reflect neither condition. This is not an exaggeration and it is not in my head. I've got concrete examples. I guess its just something we must live with. When I buy a book over a certain dollar amount, I will have already gotten the grader notes. Time and again, there are things going on with the book not reflected in the notes, and only visible with the book in hand. I like happy endings, but there's not always a happy ending for some of the bigger acquisitions I've made.
  16. Good lord it sounds like you all but pulled down his pants and spanked him in front of some power players. And it sounds like the guy deserved it. That was the end of your partnership, sounds like.
