  1. I’m sorry Lou. I would have left this on the table had I known. Tell you what. For all your future Heritage winnings, since I live right here in dallas, you can count on me to go pick them up for you
  2. After paying 10 times Guide for a Matt Baker cover, I guess I need to add them to the list of things that are wrong with OPG. Yes, I love OPG, but OPG ain’t got no love for Matt Baker. I know his work is largely confined to romance and crime, so there’s never a story arc and never a super villain, but the better Baker covers always always always go for 10 x Guide. And I see no attempt in OPG to break out the books with Baker covers from the non-Bakers pickup from last night’s Heritage weekly:
  3. Fischlers 6.0 has been for sale several months at $900k with no one yet stepping up https://www.comicconnect.com/item/863246
  4. Woowoo, I may be a bit low. You’re probably right. We will see. your knowledge of my collection remains encyclopedic
  5. Wow, @Cat-Man_America, reading the obit makes me want to read the book. I can’t imagine there are too many copies left as pristine as yours. There’s a copy on Amazon for sale right now for $988!
  6. Good eye dem1138. but something is amiss. It’s says “sale pending”
  7. And let’s not forget it’s the Commando Cubs we are talking about here . . .
  8. Cap 1s have been all over the place of late. That said, I thought this was a special copy. As you correctly pointed out, the eye appeal is outstanding for the grade. I actually thought about taking a run at this myself, since I believe this book will continue to rise in the polls. $90k is a strong price for a 2.0, but not all 2.0s are created equal. The next one up may not have the eye appeal and could go for $75k. I would be interested in the thoughts of others, but I do my bid evaluation maybe more on eye appeal than on the grade. I think $90k was about right.
  9. Very strong prices. Personally, I view 38 as the day things started going sideways, but I know I'm a lone wolf crying in the wilderness
  10. Gator, that's a cool memory. I'll bet most of the really great books have passed thru your hands at one time or another
  11. Maybe. I thought about that. But I think it will always have a special wild card value due to it being used as an exhibit in the lawsuit between dc and fawcett
  12. I don’t think that’s right. The 2.0 Cap 1 final hammer, with BP, was $90k. The 2.5 Bat 1 was $102k. The 3.5 AA 16 was $72k (sorry, @Crowzilla. I totally missed the joke when I posted the above “correction”. My bad)
  13. Strong price for Cap 1, weak price for Bat 1. All a function of eye appeal. Cap had the better of it
  14. Must be showing my age. It was a saying in Ohio in the 60’s, meaning something is getting badly beaten. I haven’t used that expression in 30 years and have no idea why now. I’ll put it down to shock re: 50th OPG golden age ranking
  15. The Tec 29 and 38 have been lively. And I love the Court copy of Action 7, but holy moly, the price! Bat 1 continues to make mincemeat out of AA16, and the 2.0 Cap 1 looks like it still has legs
