  1. I loved Rawhide Kid and Kid Colt. I hadnt noticed this book until you pointed it out. I'll be watching it too!
  2. It's not pretty, is it. i see from your link it sold for $15k in a CC auction a year and a half ago. I guess we will find out a little something something about how Covid is affecting sales when the Clink hammer comes down in 5 days.
  3. I know there’s a little thing called a pandemic i know CC’s auction is now in full bloom i know there’s some rat chews but $3200 with 5 days to go? For the love of Pete don’t make me buy this!
  4. I paid about GPA on the FF, but think I got the Action 1 page for under market
  5. That’s very suspicious. This book, if unrestored, would go for at least triple that price. i smell a rat
  6. This is as close as I’ll ever get to owning a frazetta oil
  7. MMC 2. Great cover on an important book! To me, it’s the best cover in the run. I like it better than 40, 44, 46 or any of the rest. It’s got such a pulp feel to it on a great sci-fi scene. I’m happy for you woowoo. Good job!
  8. I never noticed, so I just went back to my Watch list(yes, somehow I’ve figured how to access my watch list), and all the sold books have prices written the same - in white numbering on a black background
  9. If you wire transfer, they make you pay a wire transfer fee. So it’s go to the bank and get a cashiers check for faster delivery, or scrawl a check out with lipstick on a cocktail napkin for delivery by mule. if you don’t post a picture IT DIDNT HAPPEN
  10. Do you think the big 3 auction houses monitor this board? It makes sense to me that they would. I know the guys at CC, Clink and HA. I would imagine many of us do. We are all pretty anonymous here. It’s like Mardi Gras. We are all wearing masks. Do you think the auction houses have a magic decoder list allowing them to know who is saying what? Again, it makes sense to me they would, so I measure my postings with that awareness in the back of my mind. does anyone have any intel on this?
  11. Ok then stupid question number 2: the Action 1 story seems to have missed some introductory strips. Is there a source out there, to your knowledge, that recreates the full story as it got run in the newspapers?
  12. I had been watching page 3, which for the last month has been advertised in My Comic Shop. I had been considering that one as well. It's from the same source as mine, and was listed at $12,400. When I went back to look today, it was gone. I emailed My Comic Shop and got a generic reply saying it was no longer available. Rats. There is no group shot I can offer, unless you count a group of 1
  13. Forgive my ignorance, but are you saying these strips first ran in a newspaper before being marketed in the form of a comic?
  14. That there above is how it goes in my mind. the next one is how it is in everyone else’s
  15. Another CC auction ends tonight. It should serve as our canary in the coal mine at this exact instant hint: I AM that canary
  16. The one signed by Kane I regret letting go, but this one had brittle pages
  17. That page is perplexing to me. It’s like Siegel and Shuster just began their story in the middle instead of the beginning. don’t get me wrong; I’d love to own the page
  18. I have been a bit flummoxed trying to figure out how the cover of Action 7 was from the Action 1 story. I bet you're right. Maybe it came as a harsh surprise to Siegel and Shuster when their character had to wait 6 more issues to return to the cover. It's odd they didn't make the Action 7 cover out of a later story, like in issue 6 or 7.
  19. Truer words were never spoken. But its my keeper, so I guess who really cares
