  1. The cert of auth says that the art in the unsigned lithos was different from the art in the signed lithos. Is that accurate?
  2. The book didn’t jump out at me as a manipulated book, but maybe so and maybe that’s why
  3. Are you looking at the bottom of the back cover? Is that where you suspect the removal?
  4. Getting your book CGC graded will make it easier to sell, when the time comes. Until that time, the encapsulation will help preserve the book against dings and other tragedies, but it denies you the ability to read it. It's a trade off.
  5. No the one fischler was holding is the one that mycomicshop sold today. It was easily identifiable by the writing on the back
  6. I guess I didn’t make the cut, in his eyes. He actually did send addl pictures but didn’t deny the issue of rust, which was the question. So I guess when I asked again(the new pics did not answer my question), I got relegated to the scrap heap. Whatever the reason, it soured my enthusiasm on his book. And watching what happened to the Mycomicshop’s 4.0 all but killed it. But thanks. I think I’ll take a seat for awhile and see what happens to the GA market
  7. I sent a question about the book to the eBay seller and although he responded, he didn’t answer my question. I asked again and never got a second response (I wanted to know if the staples were rusty)
  8. How do we go from $78k for a1.5 just a few days ago to this?
  9. 3 times my bid sent us into extended bidding. Who even knew mycomicshop had that. Well I guess they’re not gonna just give it to me dropped out
  10. Hate swimming upstream, but I liked Roter. Never met him in person, but together we bought an Action 1 for $8200 in 1994 and sold it a few months later for $20k.
  11. Sounds like he got run out of town. i remember John Fairless got mad at him for, without asking first, taking his books under his dealer table and running them under a black light. Or was that you that told me about it?
  12. I just looked at his website. Not a single book over $5k. He has stepped back from the stress, maybe
  13. When discussing why some collectors want only high grade, either Rogovin or Fischler said “some people want to ride to work in a Mercedes, and some are content with a Yugo”. Or words to this effect. And during the Yugo discussion, they held up the exact book I’m now figuring out in my head how to fund. Such a small world. it’s really quite eerie
  14. Love Harley, but I’m sure even he would look back and laugh at his statement “there’s no reason to invest in low grade comics”. if it weren’t for low grade comics, I’d be collecting commemorative spoons
  15. No kidding about the prices. I never pictured myself as a Yugo kind of guy, but turns out I am! and the Dot, No-Dot discussion? Priceless. But, even 28 years later, to my knowledge, the market prices the Bat 1s the same, regardless of Dot, No-Dot
  16. $160-$170, is my guess. We will know soon enough. The corona will have its effect on the final hammer. I’m updating my post to reflect the fact that with 14 hours left, the bidding is at $71k. I think my previous estimate will turn out too high
  17. As cool as the AS2 is, the Tec 37 value skyrocketed. I hope you still have it
  18. Last time I saw it it was hanging on Matt Nelson’s wall. I remember being so confused when I saw it there
