  1. This will probably set the floor for Tradd's work. I think I would call this a C page - no hero + a blank panel. Still lots of fantastic detail and action though. https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FSEARCH.ASP%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3Dtradd%26ItemType%3DCA%23Item_1453466&id=1453466&itemType=1
  2. Here are my top 5 for the year! COVERS Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 Cover by Geoff Shaw Thanos #16 Cover by Geoff Shaw GAME ART Elrohyr's Brighthelms by Adrian Smith The Known History of Undermountain by Karl Waller OTHER The first ever sketch of Knull by Ryan Stegman
  3. Where do full splashes fit on the scale? Assuming the content of the splash is good, are they A+?
  4. While not perfect for preservation, I feel CAF is a great step in the right direction. Not all the scans will be perfect, but it's an immense amount of documentation. What tools would one recommend to get the best scans? I try to document my art well on CAF but would like to up my efforts eventually.
  5. I have the world's most comprehensive Cosmic Ghost Rider collection. I have 12 of 16 published self-titled Cosmic Ghost Rider covers including all three #1 issues in this gallery: https://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=209081 The cover gallery is probably the most representative of my collection, but I also have the following in separate galleries: -CGR's Origin: CGR's 1st appearance page from Thanos #13, Thanos #16 Cover (origin issue), and an origin splash page also from Thanos #16 -CGR Interiors: 15 interior pages including the complete "Semper Fight" story -CGR Commissions: a handful of CGR commissions
  6. My goal this year is similar to many others - just to be ready for whatever comes available. The strategy has already been working this year as I was able to pick up the #1 cover to my wife’s favorite comic! Otherwise, I’d like to start identifying and saving for the right Moebius and Kirby pieces. I mostly collect modern art, but those are the two classic artists that I’d really like an example from.
  7. A really exciting one for my wife and I! This is the #1 cover to Gotham by Midnight penciled and inked by Ben Templesmith. This is my wife's singularly favorite comic, and it was surreal to find the cover still available on Ben's site 6 years after being published in 2014. Check out more details on the piece on CAF: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1689506
  8. UNPUBLISHED Cosmic Ghost Rider Commission Penciled by Megan Hutchinson and Inked by Donny Cates (co-creator of the character and his wife)
  9. PUBLISHED Vision #4, Page 16 by Gabriel Hernandez Walta
  10. PUBLISHED Grand Master Hans Leitdorf by Adrian Smith For the Warhammer Fantasy card game, WarCry.
  11. That price is correct. It's in the CAF market detail for subscribers.
  12. He sold them a lot lower than they ended up reselling for privately, but I'm pretty certain he'd be privy to as many or more of the private sales as I've seen and would be able to verify/counter.
  13. I can vouch for Tradd Moore SSB at 10-20k, but there are no public comps. Not sure if it's better to wait for public comps (and a little time) before saying it's definitely 10-20k.
  14. Do you have a link to some examples of virtual museums? I find the concept really interesting. Have any utilized VR yet?
  15. Felix mentioned in his newsletter it sold to a curator for a museum. He mentioned the museum isn’t opened yet but has purchased land and would likely have an announcement soon.
  16. Any manga recommendations for someone who has watched a ton of anime but read very little manga? Also, any recommendations on where to find manga OA and where to set expectations? There are many Japanese artists and properties I'd love to have examples from, but I've found they're essentially impossible to acquire due to cultural etiquette in the country around art.
  17. Marvel something or other is probably a good bet. The movies are this generation’s Star Wars. I would expect a movement to digital assets of some sort as well, but I’m not certain that market is mature enough yet to materialize a specific collectible. @Great Escape’s suggestion of movie tickets and CD’s both fit fairly well with @Timely’s assessment of cheap and disposable. Both of those seem like weird things to collect to me, but I guess me and others thinking that is what makes them collectible. Video games are likely high on the list as well, but I feel like that ship already sailed. It also seems like an odd market moving forward considering physical games aren’t likely to be around for much longer.
  18. Really excited to add this old school Dungeons and Dragons piece by Karl Waller to my collection. It's from 1991's "Ruins of Undermountain" and just screams D&D with a slew of iconic monsters and the wizard Halaster Blackcloak.
  19. Thanks for the clarification. I thought there were some variants, but wasn't sure how deep it went.
  20. Values are EXTREMELY condition sensitive. 1st edition Charizard seems to be the most expensive card. They can be had for $100-$200. Or around $200,000 if it's in pristine condition. It's a big reason why the sealed boxes are so valuable - the assumption is what you pull is very high grade. To someone's other question, the value is very nostalgia driven. It's an event because it's nostalgic.
  21. All art for me. First ever drawing of Knull by Ryan Stegman Thanos #16 cover by Geoff Shaw Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 cover by Geoff Shaw Huge fan of Cosmic Ghost Rider, so incredibly excited to add these to the collection.
  22. I don't want to believe it's been this long, but it's been 24 years since this piece was originally published.
