  1. Great book, always loved this cover!!! Congrats!!! Thanks. I may crack this baby and read it after my vacation.
  2. Kudos to GreatEscape for a great Fight 31 that arrived in record time.
  3. A recent arrival courtesy of GreatEscape:
  4. Major kudos to GreatEscape for coming out of nowhere and offering my a copy of this book after I posted about wanting it in Comics General.
  5. Perhaps when I move my next office will have that style... How about tikis holding hand grenades!
  6. Nice Jumbos. I was contemplating this thread the other day. I'm waiting for a package in the mail before I make my latest contribution here.
  7. I got a deal for you. Next time you're in Northern California, come by the tiki hut with a bunch of cash. I'll provide the booze and when you're done drinking, I'll take the cash and send you on your way with a bunch of oddball funny books. Before the drinking starts we can ogle my Fiction House books.
  8. This is the splash page to the mystery strip. This is a page from another story in the comic. Hint: The book was published during WWII. Golden Age Swamp Thing #3?
  9. Well, this one isn't a comic, per se, but I'm really happy with it: Very nice.
  10. Isn't that a Copper Age comic? Sorry. Parking Garage Adventures #27. My Gerber Guides are at home so I couldn't check them for the exact title.
  11. Jumbo 31 I just found out I'm getting a nice tax return so if anyone wants to sell me any other hard-to-find Jumbos, now's the time!
  12. Drunk eBaying lets you do both at the same time!
  13. GCD can be your best friend. Batman 86 data. I freaked out that one of my early Fight Comics was missing a page until I logged on and started comparing.
  14. Here's another clue. And another. Hint: This comic was posted on the boards by another member sometime within the last 48 hours. I'm sticking with "The Adventures of Mike #7" Bee fans unite!
  15. Gatherings from today's Sacramento Convention: Matt Baker and Jack Kamen (?? There's a Rulah story) goodness: I've been wanting to read some Black Cat for a while. This one was from HouseofComics (who I'm always happy to buy from) and the price was reasonable: Another HouseofComics purchase. Late run Fight Comics with nice deep colors: (Those late run FH books make me sad because you can see how downhill the company has slid. They pale in comparison to what the company was doing just a few years earlier.) And these two aren't GA, but I'm going to show them off anyway: At the rate I'm buying Sugar and Spikes, I should have a full run around 2050.
  16. I immediately thought Robbins but had second thoughts because of the clue. I don't remember ever seeing Robbins mentioned on the boards. It must be on forums other than Gold. Robbins Marvel work in the 1970s is universally reviled elsewhere on the boards. It give new meaning to the term, "truly awful." The stuff looks like he was dialing it in long distance. (Which is a shame because his earlier work and his early-Bronze Batman stuff is quite good.)
  17. Darn. I was going to guess "Flying Saucers Rock and Roll Summer Giveaway." That's a Bronze Age comic. No. You're thinking of "Giant Size Amazing UFO Rockers" from Marvel circa 1976. Art by Don Heck and Frank Robbins. Rumored to be so awful it sent people in convulsions and caused at least one death.
  18. Darn. I was going to guess "Flying Saucers Rock and Roll Summer Giveaway."
  19. I have no friggin' idea what book that is and I'm dying to know.
  20. Once again, Action 1 so I can read the Zatara story.
  21. Here's a few more panels from the story. Don't Drink the Purple Kool-Aid Summer of Love 80 Page Giant Special Edition?
