  1. There's evil written all over her little, fluffy face. Named after this character? (even a feline pose here!) Jack Actually, her name is Rory, short for Rory-Spot, because the markings on her back look like a Rorschach blot.
  2. How about kitten chew instead of insects and rodents? The corner of my copy of Jimbo... ... now looks like this... ... thanks to this: We have allowed her to live, but she isn't allowed near any comics anymore.
  3. I'm fairly new to DC war, but loving them. Sometimes you think you just can't read another superhero story... ever. I was wondering if someone could fill me in on a retcon question: In Easy and in the Haunted Tank, the bronze and early copper stories have the squads with an African American member. How did DC justify these guys being in the groups when it's historically impossible?
  4. I keep stumbling over the couch, and I still can't find the light switch! I found the light switch but I still can't find my underwear Don't turn on the lights until you find your underwear!
  5. Lower half of that photo summarizes my want-list succinctly.
  6. She has a gun and she knows how to use it... Regarding the avatar, I stole it off the web. There's an artist out there selling prints of that image. I just now realized he lifted it from the Fight 39 cover. Perhaps someone should send Ms. Renee after him.
  7. Is Senorita Rio good or bad, bad as in unlawful? I thought she was a spy or something like that? I don't know much about her. I like it though, I may get one just because she looks good. Senorita Rio was a Hollywood star who became a spy during World War II. After the war, while the other stars of Fight Comics went on to civilian jobs such as boxer or private detective, Ms. Rio continued to work as a spy in South America. She's one of the good guys, er, gals. Not a femme fatale.
  8. Spirit #22. PM CW on these boards. He can probably set you up with one. It's all downhill after that.
  9. Kudos for Joker-fish for sending me a big honkin' stack of Catwoman series one comics for dirt cheap to help me get within five issues of completing my run.
  10. How were they debunked? For the sail one, they ultimately got sails and hitched one of their assistants to a safety rig and saw if he could safely ride a sail down. The sword one involved making a sword-swinging rig and swinging it against another sword. If you don't watch Mythbusters, you ought. Great fun which usually involves blowing something up at the end.
  11. An interesting tidbit for Mythbusters fans: My Brave and Bold #1 arrived yesterday and as I sat on the couch admiring it: I noticed that of the three vignettes on the cover, two of them happen to involve myths that were busted by Jamie and Adam. First, the Viking Prince is sliding down a sail using his sword to slow his descent. Second, the Silent Knight is shattering his opponent's sword with his own. Both of these were "scientifically" disproven on Mythbusters. Will it diminish my enjoyment of this book? Heck no. If anything, I think it adds to the goofy fun of Silver-age DCs.
  12. My Heritage win from last night: I plan on cracking it when it arrives in a week or so. Except for 28, I think it's all downhill now for obtaining a complete B&B run.
  13. I think the new series is bringing old copies out of the woodwork. I've also noticed that #1s appear to show up in clumps. There's two on Heritage right now (hands off! I want one of them at least!) and many months ago, three or four appears on ebay in the space of a few weeks.
  14. Nice 113. And the Sky Girl story in 110 is great.
  15. With the arrival of these two: I now have this solid run from 95 to 105: which is squarely in the middle of my Jumbo Comics collection:
  16. 2 buck Chuck I recommend you stay away from that stuff. It's foul. But don't ever compare classic Walt Kelly to 2 buck Chuck. We might have to raise a posse if you do it again.
  17. Ask any lawyer in the country and they can tell you how wrong you are. Perhaps. But having a contract and enforcing a contract are two different things... He didn't say anything about enforcement. The way I see it, if someone backs out on a valid contract, the least we can do is let other board members know that it happened. Why let deadbeats waste other people's time? I completely agree with what you're saying. I think we're arguing apples and oranges here, but agreeing they're fruit. It would be a much better discussion over a few beers and maybe some GGA to oogle.

  19. Every other day around here with all the great books that have been posted lately...
