PGM Supernatural Thrillers #5
comicginger1789 replied to Bart Allen's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Nope. Ink/date stamps and minor store stamps like that on old books rarely affect the value. I mean, you might not get a 9.6-9.8 but you can still easily get a 9.0-9.4 if it is in that condition otherwise. Personally, I love marks like this but I know there are picky folks who want nothing at all on the cover. -
A silly hypothetical situation, loosely based in reality.

Does Jimmy care for comics? If not, sell em and tell the cousing nuthin! After all, what kind of crappy Aunt doesn't give him his present later anyway? If Jimmy does care for comics, he just keeps those suckers. Either way, Jimmy is the winner! Cousins said to take it anyways. -
This fella also started that thread about a fake AF 15 on ebay. Maybe to try and seem like he was on our side reporting fake stuff? Grrrrr lets get him!

Yeah I was gonna say looks 100% the same except the bottom staple which maybe was replaced or cleaned up. Booooo on this fella.

After sitting dormant for March and April, I decided I have to find some way to get some comics. As I normal have US stuff shipped state side, that was out of question. So I ventured into other avenues and feel like I was successful. First, a Canadian edition Crimes By Women 2. Worn but I had to have it. Next, I got on a National Diamond insert kick and grabbed this Cap ish with it. Also grabbed a Tomb of Dracula ish from the same seller for good measure. Next some Mcfarlane Spideys and others stuff from a local friend. I upgraded a handful of my copies and am gonna sell the rest. Then the Phantom model kit in a mish mash box of random model stuff. Then, secured a full run of Warlock. Been wanting to complete this run and well now I have! Finally some romance books. Dunno if there any gems and some have Judy written on the cover but I couldn’t not buy them. I think it’s safe to say I caught up on some missed time.

PGM Amazing Fantasy 15
comicginger1789 replied to williamhlawson's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
I am also right around 2.0 but I do think a cleaning could bump to a 2.5. 3.0 would be a gift. -
Trimmed Is Now the New Blue Label

All I can say is that if both of you react the way you did over something so small, it has me hesitant to want to buy or sell from/to either of you. If you read this and think my tone is stern well you are wrong. How anyone can assume tone from text is just that...your assumption. And some people assume the worst. By the way, I sang this in my best operatic voice. And I drew out the word worst at the end for a good five seconds. It was slightly off key but it was definitely singing. Now I have to explain to my wife what I was doing so...

To buyer: Should one have read and known the shipping cost before claiming? Yes. Did they do the right thing by offering to still pay and honour the "claim it" guidelines? Yes. Did they need to leave a message puffing up how much they buy and how they don't need a lecture? Nope. To seller: Are you wrong in reminding people that if they claim they should pay? No. Can the world not have an inch of flexibility, especially when dealing with someone who has bought a lot from you in the past? Is it so hard to say "no problem, I will keep it up for sale"? No. End of discussion. Get back to enjoying life both of you.

PGM Amazing Spiderman 9
comicginger1789 replied to UncleAnwar's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
3.5-4.0. Great low grade copy. Mayyybbbbeee 4.5 but the spine and edges show their wear a bit much. Istill want it though -
PGM FF 112 (Grade is in!)
comicginger1789 replied to ChrispyC66's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
3.5. Would not be surprised if it went up or down 0.5 depending on the grader. -
Tales from the Crypt 46
comicginger1789 replied to The Heckler's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
I think even with that piece an 8.0 is wishful thinking mainly because of some of the browning to the back edges. I would say 6.5-7.0 is obtainable. -
Captain America 117-Spare a grade please!
comicginger1789 replied to Charles S.'s topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
That tear kills it. 6.0 seems right. -
IN THE ERA OF COVID19...BUYER'S MARKET?
comicginger1789 replied to trmoore54's topic in Comics General
I’d rather have ten Ferrari’s than one special edition low mileage rarity. Just like I would rather have the 4000 comics I own instead of a couple hundred keys. -
That rip in the back sucks. I might be around 2.5-3.0. I dunno if it can get much higher than a 3.5 if cleaned and pressed.

Trimmed Is Now the New Blue Label
comicginger1789 replied to Cherubim's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
A CGC error. Should be purple label. The type of trimming intrigues me though...why trim just those pages?? Hmmm -
PGM Action Comics 6
comicginger1789 replied to Qua-Brot's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
1.8 with outside shot at 2.0 Someone recording a time on it! What was they doing? Secret meeting three times a week? At 7:15? Such a specific time! Perhaps it was a reminder of some kind? Who knows! -
Def less than 7.0 as that giant crease kills it. 6.0 I think is exactly where it falls.

Date Stamp (and Store Stamp) Love
comicginger1789 replied to comicginger1789's topic in Comics General
Not really a date stamp but has anyone seen this before? I assume it might have been sold on a military base? The stamp is stamped right into the paper of the comic, like it’s indented.
