thanks Adamantium for posting this. I got in under the wire for supplies I needed.

Spoiler
I'll try a 3.5-4.0
-
No idea what that is next to the bottom staple but it doesnt look like it would press out (also no idea if cleaning would help)
On the spine by the top of the skyscraper, that looks like a small pair of non color breaking creases. If my old eye are right , hopefully that would press out
SpoilerI'll guess 9.0-9.2

Receiving is very backed up atm. Expect 4 business days at least, after books are delivered.
I agree with that. Mine took 6 calendar days which included the weekend.

I'm impressed that you have a Chuck Norris comic.
Did he count to infinity in it (twice) ??
I've read here that you get the it's only Qualified label for unverified exterior signatures if the book is high grade. If it's a lower grade book it gets the Universal label.
You'd have to go to another company who use some type of verfication service to validate unwitnessed signatures. I don't know much about it other than that.

Usually need to see the whole front and back to give guesstimates on grades.
They look like what's called 'non color breaking creases'
CGC offers pressing services (through CCS) which can literally press it flat. CCS is part of CGC though there are 3rd party pressing companies also

and educate yourself on registered mail if, after all is said an done, you do decide to mail it in (with insurance!)

wow you mst have like 100 long boxes (at 300 per box).
Gerber & BCW put out long/short boxes among others. From what I've learned (and I am no expert) Gerber has good acid-free boxes/bags/backing boards
Based on the dates they were published, there are different sized bags (Silver age vs Modern age etc)
You may want to take inventory to see what's potentially worth taking care of as some portion of them may not be worth the expense
You should host a pizza party - I'd come over to help. Though pizza and comics aren't the best combination....
(and on the serious side, condolensces on the loss of your brother)

IMHO with the tears/chips, water stain etc, I don't see a press helping the grade out any (disclaimer - I know nothing!)
Congrats though on picking up such a key book!

I'd guess 9.2 due to those small spine issues and the corner.
-
Looks like a pair of indents on the left side of them back cover which would hopefully press out.
If so, 9.6 there's some white dot by the middle of the bottom staple on the back, not sure what that is

Growing up I had a 13 inch black and whte TV in my room where I loved staying in bed Saturday mornings and watching the monster movies on the UHF channels.
I lived for those old Godzilla movies. Several years ago I saw an episode of Mystery Science Theater where they parodied the one with the Ultraman looking robot who grew to Godzilla size (Jet Jaguar or something like that) - just frickin' hilarious.
The movie trailer showing all the monsters was awesome. Hopefully I can get my wife to go see it as she suddenly showed an interest when she saw the girl from Stranger Things was in it.

Really hard to tell from pics about a grade that high - especially with a cover that busy. On that last pic of the back cover - a close up of the spine across from the 'M' (Dead Calm a really good movie BTW) is that a stress line? For all I know that could be a hair.
The last pic of the LLC on the front cover also looks like a small ding. On that same pic ~2/3rds of the way up, is that another small crease? Maybe it's just cover art or maybe I'm imagining things.
For those reasons I don't think it would get a 9.8, so I'll go a tick lower at 9.6

looks to me like several small spice tics visible on back cover and the front cover upper left corner look s like it has some wear
SpoilerI'll guess 7.5-8.0 due to number of spine tics
-
-
Yeah, pressing that right front side could make it 7.5-8 material (assuming rest of book looks as good as what i posted)

Swamp thing annual where he teams with Etrigan and descends into Hell to retrieve Abby. Beautiful combo of story and art.

usually i'm less strict but that paper loss on the ad page keeps this under 9 pressed or not. 8.5
Sorry I'm still new to this - what do you mean by paper loss?
I believe he's referring to the lower right corner where a small corner piece is torn out. I also think that keeps it from a 9.0
How do you store your slabs?

Are the boxes sold by Hotflips, for graded comics, acid free?
Furthermore, if you have a comic in the case, then in a mylar, does it matter if the box is acid free or not?
