  1. On my phone, quick draws not likely unfortunately
  2. Whew.... glad I'm not alone. A lot of books I have bought on these boards slabbed, I have freed and read. I mean a Baker girl on the entombed cover needs to be freed. She just does. A lot I have kept in the plastic tomb because I either have a raw copy or dont fancy reading yet. I found my way back to comics after years of absence, mostly because my kids started to like the Marvel movies in 2008. I remember trying to tell them I have more of those stories, they didnt care, but because of nostalgia I dug them out, reread them and got lost in that world again. The golden age stuff came later on, reading romance or jungle girls in shoddy danger wasn't high on my list as a teenager, but I got most from my grandfather, so I kept them. When I realized how prized they were I decided I better read some of this stuff and then encase them. I have sold some stuff on here, some I bought slabbed and some raw stuff. A couple I just couldn't because of nostalgia..call me weak.
  3. Sheesh...seems a bit harsh on the OP. I think there is a legitimate point by Joshua33 of identifying the release dates of the 2 books and seems like a logical question on his behalf. If i were a kid back then and saw these 2 releases a week apart , i think i would be a bit confused as well. I will defer to the expertise of those on the board and the comic book authority as to the first appearance of Lex. I always thought it was Action 23 anyways
  4. I'm not a huge Supes guy, oddly enough though, huge Lex fan. Always thought Action 23 was Lex's first appearance (because i was told so, thanks to OPSG) Never really gave it a second thought, until this thread....
  5. Take care of yourself. People recover from bruised egos, bruised sales threads etc. What you're dealing with can take a lifetime and sometimes two. I wish you good health. I think these boards can be sarcastic, cruel, punishing and also uplifting and very caring. Be well sir.
  6. This is disturbing. Hope he knows how some of the board members who have posted, feel about him. This is refreshing to see as a fairly new member to this community. Reaching out is half the battle. Hope you know you have allies friend.
  7. ...i lost this moving in the 80's from Brooklyn to Menlo Park NJ. North American Movers, never forgave you. I just need to hold it again.
  8. Got it. Serious note friend. I buy a lot of stuff . I would never look for a store called "Comic Stock". I may have had a few comments that seem like i am joking, but i own my own small (NOT A COMIC) business and i know how difficult it is to carve out a niche. I really think you should consider your name, I just don't think it sets you apart whatsoever. I am sure you looked at Google algorithms, which can cost you a lot of money, to show up in the top 3 of what people search for. People looking for comics, usually have a connection with comics and one or 2 catch words can lead them to you. I know you may be very experienced and know all of this and I am certainly not trying to tell you what to do. Your name is not distinguishing or unique whatsoever. Hope you take this as constructive criticism.
  9. ..and eggs!?...breakfast and comics?..i like it!
  10. If you are in Mexico, would you not call it something in Spanish or are you using a US website?..El Libro Caliente..
  11. This. You want an honest opinion, you came to the right place. What does Comic Stock even mean?...stock as in stock pages, as in stock exchange, as what? The name is not catching at all. My local LCS is called Brave New Worlds...seems weird but entices attention. My suggestion is draw a name of a bar, locale, etc FROM a comic...I always liked " Munden's Bar" from Grimjack by Tim Truman...see where i'm coming from?
  12. Wow Michael, thanks for sharing this, I feel a lot older than I did 2 minutes ago. He is not that much older than me. But back in the 80's when I was a Teen Titans addict and everyone was an X-men addict his work was sublime and in thought he was in his 40's or 50's....you know ..an old man.
  13. Unbelievable, his ads in early books would cause me palpatations. Prices seemed too good to be true and his promises were even more than that. Always trusted my gut. Came to find out how much scamming was involved and steered me away from comics for years. Disturbing if hes still doing this nonsense.
  14. Maybe the most amazing book I have seen on this board. Good luck friend. There is life after divorce and I wish you well.
  15. Agree with OP, the James Bond model should be the template for these types of movies. Sean Connery was my Bond, but i still watched the movies and enjoyed them immensely after he left the role. Daniel Craig was great in the role, taking flack for ..gasp!..blond hair! Robert Downey and Chris Evans certainly defined their roles as i think we can mostly agree, but there is other actors out there that i think can play those roles fairly well. We don't need to kill off Iron Man and Cap because those actors aren't available anymore. "The king is dead...long live the king!"
