    So the answer to the original question of this thread is: Yes, as of now, CGC has lost the books, issued a check based on declared value and will continue to search and reserves the right to correct the record if said comics are found. Did i miss anything? The OP has every right to reject the check, feel angry and mistrustful of the service. I would, if this happened to me. I am sure most would as well. I have not had any bad experiences so far with CGC and i support them but I can't believe this has only happened once. Where have others seeked advice/remedies? I think valued information regarding shipping items has been garnered though which i will keep in mind.

    My submission received 3/28, schedule for grading 4/2. 21 books 1 modern, rest GA Universal, standard. I know this doesn't help you. Waiting till friday, seems prudent. But these are your books!, IDGAF what the perception would be of me, i would call them and reiterate your concern. You have (will) paid submission fees and no one can criticize you for that. You are not asking for something free. My feeling is it will show up and i'm sure you have double checked the address sent,who signed for it, etc.

    Thank you very much sir! So ~3/4 of of these copies are in the hands of collectors who have not sold yet. and ~1/4 have been sold multiple times 2006-current. That's not a lot of these graded copies in a 13 year period, yet its these copies that have dictated the price. Its interesting even at these prices that the 73% haven't started unloading more.

    Someone mentioned IH181 is the bitcoin of comics. Speaking of which, the unique number on the encapsulated case should function as a unique identifier of that specific comic. Couldn't that be a significant way of tracking to see the specific turnovers of the individual books. Is there a way to do this? Is it being done already? I have exposed my naive knowledge of this subject matter.
