I have found that eBay alerts are generally worthless. By the time you get the alert, any good deals are gone.

2 raw copies on eBay within the last week or so. Both gone within an hour. There there's this copy- seems suspicious to me? No returns. High grade... I know it has a Sim signature on the inside, but that could be faked. 24 hour auction. I thought it was low, based on recent sales... VGs are selling within minutes for $1700+.

I sent in a copy of SHIELD 7 (Steranko), which I swear was the nicest copy of any vintage book I ever held in my hands. I didn't want to assume a 9.8, but figured 9.4 was a shoo-in, and 9.6 likely. It came back a 7.5, and I got so mad I took it from the CGC mailer box and threw it right in the trash. (FWIW, all my other submissions have come back within 1 increment of my pre-submission estimation)

Well, that's not worth it IMO. The other guy's slabs sell at a discount.

Does the other guy do signature verification without verification? If so, then yes, do the other guy, then resubmit to CGC for hopefully a yellow label.
