  1. Once you start on GA books, nothing else gives quite the same satisfaction.
  2. latest pickup from ebay, made an offer on this ugly (but MY kind of ugly!) WW2 cover I'd been having a hard time tracking down it's also my first CGC book purchase, which I will now extricate from its trappings... (Matt pulls out exacto knife) Collection now 13/56ths complete!
  3. you know, someplace out there is a warehouse full of 10.0 Joe #21s, which will one day be found and dumped on eBay, ala Twisted Tales #1.
  4. so, not 16 books that are 'missing' from the compiled list, but 16 books that Durden personally does not have? gotcha
  5. seen them. But I 'thumb my nose at HG' ! seriously, though- that 17 looks like it may be game for you, no? I wonder why so many early bids...
  6. well, we don't want to buy them- not for the purposes of this thread anyway- just need scans of 'em.
  7. a 21 had been posted a few months ago, the CGC 1.5 one.
  8. thanks! one last batch of books to post, then I'm done. For now!
  9. continuing my Action countdown, here are today's 3 scans- #41 is, to me, the total iconic Superman image birthday present from years back recent eBay ripoff, but at least it looks nice.
  10. You're right to stay away. When it comes to Action war cover collectors, you'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany. I once knocked over a man on crutches holding a baby to get an Action war cover he was going to buy.
  11. It comes up for sale so infrequently, it helps to have friends on the lookout for you. Of course they're all hard to find, but relative to each other, I've seen more copies of Action 2-6 for sale than 7-13 for some reason. At least that's been my experience. totally agree. Alton- For comparison's sake on that #8, I watched a back coverless #9 finish at over $1k last year, so that price isn't at all crazy. Check out his #19, too. Worth making a lowball offer on, perhaps...
  12. Schuster always drew Superman too small, IMO. I think your 22 is from the same collection as my 15. Same coloring, same type of damage. Is your 22 super flat and clean, with most of the gloss gone? any interior tape?
  13. this is the one from Metro, no? I almost bought this last year. Nice pickup! I'd call it a 4.0/3.5- is it not?
  14. i cannot unread these things you are typing.
