Hollywood1892 reacted to AnthonyTheAbyss in ASM 300 heating up
Ahhh. That's a very good point. Somebody willing to spend that much money must have done their research and have known what it recently sold for. Also didn't realize it was a Canuck offer.
***I don't trust Canadians

Even the 90-day average is $6,050 U.S. That's close to $7,350 Canadian.

Hollywood1892 got a reaction from KCOComics in Cgc lost pull with comic creators or something that actors are headlining SS?
I'm really not understanding the desire to put an actors signature on a book, and at really "out of this world" prices

Yes...that would make sense
If they made a biopic of Monalisa would it make sense for the actress portraying her to sign the painting?
I get it, there is way more copies of a comic book, but still.....

Thank you. I feel very fortunate to be able to add this book to my collection. I agree, definitely my crown jewel. Although my FF and Hulk 1s are currently fighting it out for second place .

In this context, creators matter. Actors? Eh. Not really. Even when CGC promotes it on FB it doesn’t really seem to get much of a rub

A copy sells for $8k US, and someone offers you 6.5k Can?

I was hoping they'd let you submit posters for the SS events. Like, an Avengers poster with the actors who played Vision, Wanda, Loki, etc.. would be awesome.
But, no.

Hollywood1892 reacted to the blob in Well... I guess that's one way to speed up grading
Nothing stops you. It is in a mylar, so resealing this might be a bit more visible. Basically something like this just makes folks feel more comfortable with the grade and resto. Same seller reputation, same apparent scans, whose book would a buyer have more confidence in? It is a $10 or $15 service depending on the book, so folks buying will feel more comfortable taking the book out.
Of course, the problem is, I might feel like a certain ebayer is not a scammer who would do a switcheroo, but how do I know if they bought the book from someone who is a scammer?

They offer the service for people who don't want it slabbed, costs a bit less. Not just magazines, any comic. It's usually utilized for low value books that the economics of slabbing don't quite make sense. This would not fit that description.
It has some tamper-evident features, but not like a slabbed book. So if you are considering a book in raw grading, you would want to examine the packaging carefully to see if there are any signs of tampering or substitution.
That's why it works well for low cost items. More time and trouble to tamper with it than the item may be worth.

Probably a lot of spawns, ASM 344 is nearing it to my knowledge or seems that way, wish the 362 and 363 would too
I've never been lucky enough for the 299 298 or 300 not even 345 haha

I think there have been some pretty strong 9.6 Newsstand sales too
May not be worthy to some, but at least worth mentioning at some point when it comes to Newsstand that is usually higher than direct and maybe closer to direct 9.8 idk

Hollywood1892 reacted to valiantman in ASM 300 heating up
That's a good point. I usually keep the Signature Series options turned off when I use GPA, so the most recent sales were yellow and it's hard to separate the "blue label" from the "signature" using the signed price.
