I think that covers it. Here's the books!
Lot 1 - Mighty Mouse
Basically pricing the first 3 (issues 16, 21 & 24) and throwing the other 3 in for free. Although the Adventures of Mighty Mouse 7 does have a double cover for anyone who collects those.
Mighty Mouse 16 - 2.0 - Cover detached, interior pages still stapled together. Color scrape front cover lower right corner area. 1/4” spine split lower spine. Decent looking lower grade comic.
Mighty Mouse 21 (52 page issue) - 3.0 (close to 3.5 if not for water spot) - Cover and centerfold attached. Several creases lower right front cover and lower left back cover. Water stain near center front cover. Other dirt spots on Mighty Mouse. Pen top middle front cover. Another decent looking lower grade comic though.
Mighty Mouse 24 (36 page issue) - 2.5 - Cover and centerfold attached. 3/4” lower spine split with small piece missing back cover. 1/8” top spine split. Small corner piece missing top left back cover. A few tears on top front cover, but overall decent looking low grade comic.
Adventures of Mighty Mouse 7 - 1.5 - Double cover! 2” spine split on outer cover and 1” spine split inner cover. Spine split middle cover as well, but can’t tell if the inner cover has the same issue. Inner cover is a little brighter in color than outer cover. Both covers still attached and centerfold attached, but I think lower staple centerfold might eventually come loose. Corner piece missing on a few lower right interior pages. Some tears on cover and other general wear (writing, date stamp, soiling back cover) brings grade down.
Mighty Mouse 82 - 0.5? - Do you like your comics to feel crunchy? Then you will love this book. Overspray on all four sides of book making it stiff and crunchy feeling. Not sure how to grade this one really.
Mighty Mouse Fan Club Magazine 6 - 4.0 - Looks nicer but 1/4” piece missing from spine near top where it says MIGHTY and 1/8” piece missing around the middle of the spine. Also has some overspray on top edge, right open edge, and bottom edge of comic. Not nearly as bad as 82. Presents like a mid-grade book.
Lot 2 - Three Dimensions
Three Dimension Comics starring Mighty Mouse - 2.5 - Cover and centerfold attached. Also has loose pair of original glasses. Pen writing on cover, corner bends, small pieces missing, foxing/staining and other general wear brings grade down on this comic, but it is a decent looking low grade book.
House of Terror - 1.5/1.8 - Missing top staple. Cover detached and all interior pages loose, but it is complete. No glasses with this one. Front cover also miscut. Heavy creases lower left back cover corner area. It looks nicer in Mylar, but lowered grade due to loose pages and detached cover.

Sharp looking copy.
Hard covers or HB's are fine. Perhaps Pat could share a few of his gems again. I'm positive no one would mind. One of my top HB's is L. Sprague De Camp's "Lest Darkness Fall", in it's second edition (1949 by Prime Press"). The 1941 HB by Henry Holt and Company is the first edition.
Very cool! Another book added to my want list.

Some sharp copies there man! Love the condition on the Shadows & WT
I’ve been pretty lucky finding high grade copies at embarrassingly low prices. Most of the books I own were $5 or less. I paid $15 for the Worlds of Weird book a couple years ago and that was the first time I spent more than $10 on a paperback.

Last one for this morning is a hardcover (I hope that is alright). I actually collect quite a bit a sci-fi by female authors and I feel this book definitely fits the theme of this thread based on its subject matter. It's a sci-fi book about a hardboiled detective called Sibyl Sue Blue. Unfortunately, Rosel George Brown passed away at a fairly young age. She wrote several short stories and collaborated on the novel Earthblood with Keith Laumer.
The first line on the dust jacket is:
"Sibyl Sue Blue hits first and thinks later, preferably over a Gin and 'gin and a good cigar."

Definitely need an upgrade on this first one, preferably one without a price sticker on it
, but it's one of my favorite covers.
The owner at my LCS used lighter fluid to take the sticker off one of the books I bought from her, but that makes me a bit nervous.
Steranko covers
Took me a while to find a copy of this in the right condition at the right price.
Roy Krenkel cover art
Jeff Jones cover. I really love this one.
Kelly Freas, I think?

Welcome to the show
I think you'll find a few Science Fiction pb fans around here
Awesome! I may scan in a few over the weekend. It would be great to share them with other sci-fi fans. Other than my wife who mostly reads newer sci-fi (Murderbot is a favorite of hers), I don't have anyone to share them with.

I didn't even realize this thread existed. I'm going through it and adding books to my want list. I've been more of a paperback book collector than comic collector the last few years. I may try to post a few of my books if it's ok to post sci-fi paperbacks here.
I second Mr. Dowling. This is my new favorite thread!

I checked my AFLAC accident policy and it looks like 3rd degree burns and coma pay the most, but that would still only give me about 10% of what I need.

Most of these present nicer than assigned grade. Cream or OW to Cream pages for all of them. Asking price includes USPS priority shipping.
Asking $70 shipped for the lot. I think Mr. Midshipman Easy is worth about 1/3 or so of the asking price.

Since they are lower grade, I am being a bit lazy and not scanning all the books. I have two group shots and scanned a few of the books that I thought either had some value or were a bit nicer than the rest of the group. If anyone would like additional scans, let me know.
Here is the info - grade and most notable defects for the books. Most have covers and centerfold attached. I have noted the ones that don't. Again mostly Cream pages, some with OW to Cream pages.
Classics Illustrated
11 - Don Quixote HRN 156 - 2.0/2.5 - Kunstler cover. 3/4” tear on front cover about 3” down from top open flap. Some type of liquid looking drops/staining on back cover. About 9 of them toward the top.
12 - Rip Van Winkle and the Headless Horseman HRN 118 - 2.0 - Top staple on centerfold held on by lower half of staple. Heavy 6” diagonal crease on right front cover. Accumulation of creases/dimples on front and back cover. Light to moderate moisture damage on front and back cover near the top around the spine.
21 - 3 Famous Mysteries HRN 114 - 2.0/2.5 - Accumulation of light creasing/dimples on cover front and back. Spine has wear to it, but both staples secure.
26 - Frankenstein HRN 117 - 2.0/2.5 - Accumulation of light creasing/dimples on front and back cover. Some small tears at bottom back cover.
32 - Lorna Doone HRN 118 - 1.8/2.0 - Matt Baker cover and art. Accumulation of color and non-color breaking creases front and back cover. Top left corner back cover almost torn off.
39 - Jane Eyre HRN 118 - 2.5 - Date stamp front cover. Accumulation of non-color and color breaking creases front and back cover. Back cover missing a small corner piece from both the top and bottom open flap.
40 - Mysteries (Poe) HRN 92 - 1.0 Heavy staining/browning front and back cover. Could also be some moisture damage. Reading crease and accumulation of mostly non-color breaking creases/dimples front and back cover.
44 - Mysteries of Paris HRN 78 - 2.0/2.5 Accumulation of mostly non-color breaking creases on front and back cover. Staining to back cover. 1/2” spine split lower spine.
52 - House of the Seven Gables HRN 89 - 1.8/2.0 - Centerfold popped at both staples. It’s still pretty snug in the comic so I didn’t want to pull on the pages to see if any other pages were loose.
69 - Around the World in 80 Days HRN 125 - 1.5/2.0 - Water damage/staining front and back cover upper left corner. Worse on back cover than front.
71 - The Man Who Laughs - HRN 71 - 1.5/2.0 - Cover detached at lower staple and barely hanging on top staple. Centerfold still secure.
74 - Mr. Midshipman Easy - HRN 75 - 3.0 - 15 cent sticker on front cover. Nicer lower grade book.
78 - Joan of Arc - HRN 113 - 1.5 - Quite a bit of wear to front and back covers. Rippling on front cover probably from water/moisture. Colors still decent on front cover.
84 - The Gold Bug and other stories - HRN 84 - 3.5/4.0 - Some stacking staining front and back cover. Order form filled out on back cover. Good stories, terrible artwork.
105 - From the Earth to the Moon - HRN 106 - 1.0/1.5 - Mostly due to water damage in upper left corner front and back cover. Spine wear and accumulation of other wear front and back cover.
124 - The War of the Worlds - HRN 125 - 1.5 - Centerfold popped at lower staple. Cover is probably barely hanging on at lower staple. Accumulation of general wear on front and back cover.
138 - A Journey to the Center of the Earth - HRN 136 - 3.5 - maybe better. There is an extra set of staples that look like manufacturing. There is one set on the cover and then a second set on the inside back cover equidistant that goes through to the centerfold. It does not look like someone added them. It looks like extra staples when printed.
142 - Abraham Lincoln - HRN 142 - 4.5 - Crunch top middle front cover. Some other general wear that brings grade down. Otherwise nice looking lower grade book.
145 - The Crisis - HRN 143 - 4.5 maybe slightly nicer. Nice Norman Saunders painted cover. Another nice looking lower/mid grade book. Some stress at top staple front cover and very slight tears. Still attached fine.
146 - With Fire and Sword - HRN 143 - 4.5 maybe slightly nicer. Non-color breaking bends front cover.
Special Issue 141A - The Rough Rider - 5.5 - Color breaking corner bend lower right front cover. Reading crease along spine.
Special Issue 147A - Crossing the Rockies - 3.0/3.5 - Quite a bit of rippling along spine due to being square bound I think. Some creasing on front cover that brings grade down. Looks decent in mylar.
I think that covers it. Here's the books!
