  1. Ok. Thank you Point Five. Thanks to everyone else who replied as well.
  2. I finally got a photo. I think you can see it in this image. You have to get the light shining right on it. I guess it is 3 slight impressions.
  3. Main defects on this are at the top left front cover - it looks like a tiny bit of scraping on the very edge. The only other issue which I can't pick up in a scan or photo are some very light dog-ear impressions on the lower right front cover. You can see them when you hold it up to the light, but otherwise very hard to pick up in a scan or photo. I'm thinking it's enough to bring the grade down a full grade though. I think I would have had this as a VF/NM otherwise, but maybe 8.0? Does that sound about right or should it be lower? The impressions start from the bottom at about the last W in WIDOW and go up diagonally (maybe 55 to 60 degree angle) through the knife. There are 4 of them. Thanks for your replies!
  4. Thanks again for the replies. I bought a few from my LCS several years ago, all lower grade but still nice - no major defects. I pulled them out to read the other day and was starting to regret not buying every one of them that she had for sale. Her husband grades the books and is really tough. Most books he grades as G are usually closer to VG. For example, at the same time I bought the war books, I bought a Black Knight 1 that he graded G+. I sold it last year as G/VG (kicking myself a bit) and the person I sold it to got it graded by CGC and it came back 4.5. At any rate, my original question was really just because I felt like I probably should have bought the whole stack of Atlas war books when I saw them. With prices going up on so many books lately, I'm beginning worry I may not be able to afford or even find some of the books I want anymore. Thanks again.
  5. Thanks for the replies. I was just checking the census on a few books I have and saw there were only 1 or 2 graded copies of each of them. My thought was that there probably was not enough interest in them to get them graded as PeterPark suggested. Grading might cost more than the book was worth in some cases. But, I also thought perhaps there are some that may be a little scarce as well. Mine are all lower grade Good to Very Good. Thanks again for the responses!
  6. Just a quick question. Are the census numbers on Atlas war comics low due to lack of interest in these books or are they actually a bit hard to find? Thanks for any replies.

  12. I tried scanning these first, but my scanner was not getting a very good image. There is a reflection of my dining room light in the right corner of these iphone photos along with part of my hand. I can try to take some more photos if anyone wants, but I have to take them from a more extreme angle and further away to not have my hand show up. First in the thread wins. I think that covers it. Here's the books! Crime Smashers 9 CGC graded 4.5 Cream to OW pages - Please note: there is a fairly deep vertical scratch on the front of the case that goes through the guy in green from his head to his mid section. there may also be other lighter scratches on the case. Main issue seems to be accumulation of spine stress and a small tear above the M in CRIME on front cover. Accumulation of dirt on back cover along with a light moisture stain in lower right back corner. SOLD! Chamber of Chills 12 (File copy) CGC graded 6.5 Cream to OW pages - Please note: there are a couple moderate vertical scratches at the top of the case on the front that go through the B in CHAMBER down through the IL in CHILLS. There may also be other lighter scratches on the case. Main issue seems to be a light moisture/water stain on the back cover on the lower right side (I have added a close up photo). Otherwise this looks like a pretty nice book. Probably VF range if not for the stain. Asking $300 shipped, but open to offers.
  13. Selling this group as a lot for $105 shipped. First in the thread wins. Please do not edit your post after posting PAYMENT Paypal only. Payments should be made within three days of purchase. SHIPPING USPS priority shipping with insurance. I ship in a Gemini mailer and then put that into a USPS Priority flat rate box. I love our Canadian and overseas members, but will only ship CONUS right now. Also, I only ship on Sunday morning due to work and family schedule. I will not sell to any H.O.S. Members or anyone currently on the probation list. Although I've never had any issues, full or partial refunds available if you contact me within 10 days of receiving your purchase. I typically do not offer refunds on CGC graded books. I think that covers it. Here's the books! Human Fly 1 - 7.0 - Nice copy. Very slight spine roll and light diagonal crease (production?) on upper back spine. OW pages John Carter Warlord of Mars 1 - 8.0 Nice book. The biggest issue is a very light railroad track looking impression along the top about 1” down that goes all the way across staggered. I believe it’s a printing process/bindery defect. You have to hold it up to light to see it. Otherwise this would be a VF/NM book. OW pages Logan’s Run 1 (Copy A) - 7.5/8.0 - Nice copy. A small corner ding on the lower spine mostly what brings grade down. OW pages Logan’s Run 1 (Copy B) - 6.5 - Light surface impressions/dimples. Crease on back cover and small tear about 2/3 of the way down on the open flap. OW/Cream pages Moon Knight 1 - 7.0/7.5 - Nice book. Some light spine stress on front and back cover. Small light crunch on lower back spine. OW/Cream pages Sandman 1 - 7.0 - Some light spine stress and a scratch with some color loss in upper front left corner. Cream pages Shazam 1 - 7.0/7.5 - Some light spine stresses front and back cover. Color fleck in 20 cent price. White to OW pages The Thing 1 - 4.0 - Would be around 6.0 but a piece of tape back cover on Kool-Aid Man’s foot. There isn’t a tear or anything there, just a piece of random tape. The Warlord 1 - 7.0/7.5 - Really nice copy, but a couple long spine stresses (kind of look like printer’s creases) lower front spine (you can see it in the hand of the guy holding the sword) and a small light crease on back cover lower open flap hurt this book. When I bought it, it looked VF/NM in the mylar. OW/Cream pages
  14. Someone needs to buy that 128. Ghost Breaker
  15. Subby 1 is one of my favorite comics. I remember seeing it on the wall at Rock Bottom Comics in Columbia, Missouri (around 1980) when I was about 12 years old. It was $10. I had just enough paper route money to take it home with me.
  16. Are you taking the lot? Just want to make sure before I mark the whole thing sold.
  17. I will check back periodically throughout the day. I've got some errands to run this afternoon but will be back in a an hour or so.
