  1. Hey all, looking for advice and/or opinions.  I have a copy of the Turtlemania Special #1 Silver Edition from 1986.  This was the one that was numbered to 100 and signed on the back by Laird and Eastman.   Currently it sits as a Blue label 4.5......I'm considering sending it back in and asking for it to be regraded with a Green label (unwitnessed signatures would be the reason why it would get the green of course).  Everyone that knows this book knows that it is legit and to me I would be totally OK with the green label because it's not a missing page, missing MVS etc.  It would be green simply because of the sigs and the number on the back.  I know based on grading history the grade would go up with the green, but I'm on the fence as to what to do.  It's a book that really never comes up for sale or is seen so it's not like I have a wide variety of choices to base any comparisons to.  And yes I am asking because if (when) I go to sell it will people frown on the green (again tho - it's not a missing page or anything).

I guess I'm just asking what are people's thoughts about a green label if it's for something like this....a book signed well before CGC was a company thus impossible for them to witness the signing.

  2. Finally got my grades!!  Books were just shipped so I don't have pics yet but got my grades.  All were pressed and all grades stayed exactly what they were when I sent them in...kind of a bummer there but at least they didn't drop

ASM300 9.4 White pages.....   Spawn 300 NYCC Gold foil edition 9.6 White pages......   Venom Lethal Protector 1 Black cover printing error 9.6 White pages

Was hoping for at least a bump somewhere (especially that Venom) but still happy.  Can't wait to see the actual books to see the sigs

My comics yesterday came back from CCS pressing and moved to grading/quality control. How long will it be until I see grades in the system? about one week approx?

Mine came back from CCS on Weds the 5th (per my phone call to CGC)...marked as Received yesterday 2-6 and today are in Grading/Quality Control.  Seems like it's gonna move fast now....I'm thinking a day or 2 til the grades are in the system.

One still received 11/27 and not moved since. I’ve called CGC and they’ve said it’s signed but in the CCS queue. Very weird because I shipped another book to them same time and it’s back already that was also pressed.

they tell me I need to be patient as it takes 3-4 weeks to get pressed? I thought we paid for expedited press and grading.

been given the run around all week and it’s getting frustrated.

I'm in the same boat - sent 3 to be pressed - marked as Received and hasn't moved since then.  My 1 book that was not getting pressed is already back.  I call them and get the "well it's at CCS so be patient"....waiting sucks.

I've still got a small batch received 12/6 with zero updates (no updated received date, value, or status) so I'm w you

Mine are kind of in the same boat. Received 12-12 and no changes there.  My value did go up from 2600 to 4800 so I have no idea what happened there.  No way I was off by that much on 3 books.

If they're still being pressed how can the pressers up the value?  That should be the graders doing that, no??

Ok, finally received word that the one book I could afford to send in to Todd (Spider-Man 1 Silver) was finalized / shipped.  Was sure this would get a 9.8, or at worst a 9.6 (or else wouldn’t have sent in).  So of course it got a 9.4 ☹️

However, there are no grader notes shown to let me know why.   Is there anyway to find out?  Is my only recourse to send in for a press and re-grade?

In hindsight I should probably have purchased a slabbed 9.8 or created a signature window bag (didn’t know this was a thing until after I mailed my book).    Definitely feeling bummed but I know I’m not the first and won’t be the last.  😞

I had this kind of happen to me a couple months ago.  I submitted a 9.8 Wolverine limited series (the Frank Miller cover with Wolvie doing the "come here" thing) that was already signed by Claremont and signed and sketched by Rubenstein.  They say never crack a 9,8 but I felt like I needed Miller on this for the trifecta.  Miller was a sig and a sketch.  Book got regraded after and became a 9.6 with NO graders notes.

CGC said I am more than welcome to send it back for a regrade......on my dime of course and with zero guarantee of what the grade would be...hell it could even drop again to a 9.4, 9.2 etc....no guarantees.  I'm still kicking it around...I see nothing wrong with the book but obviously in a slab it's hard, but the jump from 9.6 to 9.8 is very significant so I'm still thinking on it.

Don't know what you can do other than roll the dice if you want to resubmit.

My three submissions received 12/6 for which pressing was not requested are now scheduled for grading.

The three sent for pressing are still "received".

I called them because I was tired of checking my status every 15 minutes (literally).  They told me that my 3 books are at pressing but couldn't tell me when they got there.  But now all of a sudden I look at my declared value, which I had as 2600....and it now says 4800.  Um...I couldn't have been THAT far off for the 3 books I sent, so now I'm even more curious as to what's what!  They still show "received", date hasn't changed but the value changed.

Guess I'll be back to checking every 15 minutes again.
