A Man's Got To Know His Limitations

The real pros steam their books to get out those pesky wrinkles. -
Seeding bins at a convention - how do you do it?

Ridiculous! Anyway, I have a lifetime Blockbuster rental card with your name on it for Hulk 181. -

Anyone know if I need to register in advance at NYCC for Larry Hama, Frank Miller, Mark Texiera? Do they have item limits? I emailed NYCC to ask. Just wondered if any of the pros around here knew. Thanks! -

Picked up books from her downstairs at C2E2. Very sweet girl. I asked her what happened, completely unaware of what had happened, she smiled, and told me she'd had a bad accident and replied, "Hey, I'm glad to be here! I'm way better than I was last year!" -

So now that C2E2 is over what did everyone get??

Haha, thanks! So you talked them down a bit, cheers! But damn! I just got Perez to sign some Infinity Gauntlet #1's and should have had him sign that book! And now he's retired. Ah, well. Maybe I'll try Frank Miller at NYCC. -

You don't mind my asking - how much did that X-Men Annual #3 set you back? I happen to have the same book. Wondering what it's going for nowadays. -

Keep in mind - it's a month earlier next year. Feb 28 - March 1, 2010. -
A book hiding as another book? The Chameleon has struck, indeed.

A thousand apologies for piggybacking on this thread, but since there are obviously wise ASM experts here, thought I'd ask. Recently got ASM 42 graded at C2E2 - got a 4.5. I was hoping for a 6.0. Regrade or just leave well enough alone? The grader notes were this: multiple crease cover breaks color small tear top of back cover

Holy mother of Moses. Was that you? No, the dealer, huh? Basically he was holding 3 million dollars in his hand.

Those are very awesome comics to behold, for sure! Just so happens I have Iron Man at 8.5 (but Universal). At C2E2 this year, I saw several Hulk 181, and a Captain America from 1941, I think, with Stan Lee's signature on the outside of the slab with a "certificate of verification." They were asking a solid $10,000.

The Wheel of Time - in development for Amazon
lordisam replied to lordisam's topic in The Movie Forum
Side note: The last book's final epic battle is amazing, fought simultaneously over two or three locations. in the midst of all this madness scores are settled. Characters who have hated each other over (literally) thousands of pages seek each other out and chase each other down while battles rage around them. One part that sticks with me (and I will NOT spoil), one of our heroes takes on a major villain, and for a time it seems at least for this battle within the larger battle there will the usual Hollywood ending - a bad guy defeated by a scappy good guy. The villain seems stymied, his minions falling at the feet of the good guy.... but then the bad guy cleverly sniffs out the hero's plan and things take a surprising turn. (No spoiler because there are literally dozens of good guys and bad guys.) -

I think a lot of the readers here get impatient fast, for whatever reason, and I agree that the middle chunk of the books drag. I couldn't stand Elayne at all, or Perrin and Tallanvor tromping through snow after Faile and Morgase tromping through snow. Also - watching Elayne learn about basic decency by Aviendha about the horrible way she treated Mat back in Book 3. The first 6 books were awesome and the last 4 were too. -
I remember that. A big deal that the ads in comics had #2 at 40, when #1 was 20 or 30.

Picked up the two 21's at C2E2. Already owned the #1s, got them graded at C2E2. (Centerfold was detached on one, which got it a qualified grade.)
