  1. "Hello, true DC-ers! This is Stan Lee, saying, Veni Vidi Vici!!"
  2. Wade Wilson Pepper Potts Bruce Banner Matt Murdoch Steven Strange
  3. Aquaman is hot because of all that rock climbing he did and a lo carb diet to get ready for the film.
  4. Looked and didn't see a Wheel of Time thread. Apologies if I missed one. I'm sure 90% of the people here do not like the books. I love them. Books 1 through 6 are amazing. 7, 8, 9, 10 drag a bit. 11 is good. The final 3 books are page turners. (Brandon Sanderson took over as co-writer when RJ knew he was dying of a rare blood disease. The two writers worked together, with RJ giving notes and writing the final chapter himself. before he died.) The last chapter is almost 100 pages by itself. Battles within battles, all over the world, characters developed over thousands of pages clashing and killing each other. No thread is left untied. I'm sure the writers on the show will cut/condense the middle slog, where we watch Perrin hunt for his wife through snow for three books and Elayne learns to get nobles to....vote for Queen, when we all know she will eventually win. Also are some shots of the comic books based on the books. I think there is some good art there. There is a Facebook page run by the producers where book fans are currently debating casting ideas.
  5. I don't know what you guys are talking about. I found this sweet baby for only $3.99. Bingo. Now I can read about the Gaudily Garbed Gentleman fighting Jade Jaws for a very affordable price.
  6. So cool! I don't have Tiger or Night Force. But I do have this sweet Python Patrol ASP!
  7. My WHALE was my favorite (along with the Cobra MORAY hydrofoil), as evidenced by the immense wear and tear. Also for such a large, sturdy looking piece, it is surprisingly fragile. The vanes, and guns are easy to break. By contrast, my Cobra MORAY hydrofoil was nearly the same age, and barely shows any wear at all, even though as a kid those two pieces had countless epic battles.
  8. Got the bike and depth charges! Missing the recon sled and some stickers. Your friend is a lucky so and so to take the FLAGG off your hands!
  9. The Whale was my favorite too! Don't have a Terrordrome or the FLAGG. (YET!!) While my WHALE is missing some stickers, and I had to jerry rig some the back propeller and vanes to stay in place. I had to eBay missing pieces. I could have just bought a new one, but I loved the project of repairing and restoring my old childhood whale. See if you can spot differences with the before/after. (The "before" also had the front ramp completely detached, and I had to install a tiny piece of tube to keep the ramp attached.
  10. Yes, although the security is not quite as tight as TSA.
  11. Yup. I heard last year some a@@hole stole an AF 15 at a con. I think the owner should be allowed three non-fatal swings at them with a baseball bat.
  12. Got this baby at Mayhem Comics (NM #98) and took her straight to CGC for grading (got a 9.4!). Also managed to get George Perez to sign three Infinity Gauntlet #1's, get them witnessed, and submitted to CGC. Got some books I had graded with mixed results. But that's fine. Snagged two good condition GI Joe #21's first prints. My first con ever, and I loved it. I will definitely be back.
  13. Dropped off one TMNT at C2E2 Saturday 03/23/19. (Had to go off site because CGC did not have the wider magazine/wide book slabs at C2E2.) Dropped off three witnessed George Perez signed Infinity Gauntlets at C2E2 on Sunday, 03/24/19. Nothing yet in "My Submissions," but I know this will take a while....
  14. Sorry, Dark Knight! It was my first one. You'll get the next one!
  15. Thanks, ADAMANTIUM! Yeah, it's a goal! Yes, I got tons of fun out of my SNES! Good to meet you!
  16. Hi everyone! This is me. Jake. "lordisam" based on a cool Wheel of Time villain, Isam. Love those books, the comics are well done, and look forward to the Amazon TV show. Just did my very first C2E2. Got New Mutants #98, and immediately took that sweet baby to CGC for grading, and she scored a 9.4! (Also grabbed a couple good condition first print G.I. Joe #21.) Also managed to get George Perez to sign three Infinity Gauntlets at C2E2, got a CGC witness, and gave to them for off site grading for SS. Love comedy, showbiz, GI, Joe, Wheel of Time (already mentioned, but bears repeating). Two great comic book regrets of my life? 1) Selling.................. don't kill me..... please remain calm..... hold....hold....HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD..... Hulk 181 (!!!) in the early 90's to buy a Super Nintendo. Probably sold her for 55 bucks.. YOU DAMN buffoon!! She would easily have been an 8.0. 2) In the same batch - sold X-Men 12 in the 90's. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I've been trying to correct those mistakes ever since. Now that I have a bit more money I plan to somehow get them back! Glad to be here!
  17. My first con, period, and obviously my first C2E2, even though I've been in Chicago for 4 years. I'm 100% going back! Loved it!! I addition to these babies, I got 3 George Perez Infinity Gauntlet signed, CGC witnessed, taken off site for grading for SS. Also turned in a TMNT #3 for off site grading. (They didn't have the equipment for wide books.) Bought New Mutants 98, took that sweet baby straight to CGC and she got a 9.4. Pretty sweet! My old ASM 42 got graded at a 4.5, but I was hoping for a 6. Oh well. Got Avengers 32 graded and two GI Joe #1 graded. (One GI Joe #1 was a green label 7.5, which is fair, bc the centerfold was detached, which CGC caught.) Snagged a couple GI Joe 21 first prints in great shape. Had a great time!
  18. Thanks, all! I had a great time at C2E2!! My first con ever, and I am 100% going back! Got five books graded on site. Plus one wide book sent off site (TMNT #3), and was crazy lucky enough to get George Perez to sign THREE Infinity Gauntlet #1's and have them witnessed by CGC and taken off site for Sig Series grading. The C2E2 staff kept telling us at the back of the line we had a slim chance of getting him to sign, since it was the end of the day... but Mr. Perez powered through and we got er done!!! (My understanding was Sunday was his last day ever at a convention, or at least away from his home base of Atlanta.) I love that you can bring cash and bargain with the dealers. It was the most power I felt as a buyer because there are hundreds of sellers and you can always go to another one. (Instead of the usual "Well, we're the only store in your neighborhood, so if you want this book, you gotta pay what we say..") Haggled for a decent price for this sweet baby and then took her straight to CGC for on site grading!! (New Mutants #98 - got a CGC 9.4!) And of course, met Wayne and Garth.
  19. Thanks, all! Jose_25 great question. I looked through Artists Alley. Didn't see any of the ppl I wanted. (Eastman, Laird, Hama, Shooter, Mike Zeck.)
  20. Long time collector, first time caller, first time convention visitor. I've heard bringing books in physically to CGC at conventions gets them graded faster. I have a "premier" CGC membership - 150 credit. I'd like to have graded: TMNT #3 (first print), Avengers #32, Amazing Spider-Man #72, Marvel Super Heroes #21, possibly X-Factor #6 and G.I. Joe #1. Anything I need to bring, other than my books and my member #? Any other tips on C2E2? I've heard so much about this festival, but have never been to it yet. I'm having trouble seeing who will be signing at the festival when I check "Autographing Full Schedule." What am I missing?
