  1. I am curious if there are strong opinions on the recent (well, recent to me) trend of dealers using apps like Whatnot during the Comic Con. As an example at the Philadelphia Fan Expo the Comic Sketch Art group was selling items. What I found odd wasn't that they were selling items but they were selling items exclusively on the app. During the live auction all of the Frank Cho sketches were sold exclusively online while people physically at the Convention were not permitted to purchase. Even the famed Outrage books were physically at the show but only sold virtually. While this is one example I am sure there are more. My question is why go to the show at all? Or go to the show and buy things online while standing in front of the booth? It all just seems odd. I may all mean nothing but, to me, it just seems like an unfortunate trend.
  2. Will any dealers at the show be able to crack a slab and preserve the CGC SS at the show? I want to add to a few books!
  3. What a great line up! I would be wonderful if the Wolverine Lives and Deaths crew came to Fan Expo Canada but I am pretty sure Frank Cho doesn’t do Canada 🤣
  4. I have been thinking about this lately. Not to be morbid (there is no intention to be so here) but what happens when the 'brothers' decide to retire or pass on? They don't have a 'business' that has value, they have inventory that has value.Unless someone is passionate and wants to carry on the scam I would assume it would be sold off. Now to my potentially very dumb question. Do they have enough art that, if it was knowingly going to be sold off, would impact the market?
  5. Seems like a fun show! I have a premium pass from 2021 Fan Expo. Does that get me into the show?
  6. @Ecclectica @John E.This information really helped! While I do have some OA pieces and have been dabbling for a few years I still have a lot of learn. I have always wondered why finding pages for some of these more obscure books was so difficult. My assumption was people, like me, who had an affinity to this character, simply held on to them.
  7. Those are great, thank you for sharing! I am not artist but it seems as though this would be an interesting character to draw.
  8. When I was young I always loved obscure characters and for some odd reason Sleepwalker and Speedball were my favorites. I have managed to find a Speedball page over the years but rarely seen any Sleepwalker pieces. Anyone have any they want to share? Not necessarily for sale, I would just like to see them!
  9. I made a deal through Comic Art Fans. It wasn't really for sale but I took a shot.
  10. I posted this in another spot as well but I am so happy I will post it twice! Finally found an outrage cover!
  11. Did you buy that Frank Cho book? I tried to find someone to get one of the sketch covers for me but couldn't 🤣. I was happy to discuss a fee for the effort.
  12. Seeing as @Kevin Boydis the only person that works st Fan Expo Canada that answers questions (weeks of emails, messenger posts, etc.) Have gone unanswered i will try here. Am i the only one that paid for shipping, have recieved an email that is is in transit with a tracking number and don't have the tickets yet? If they don't come today i have issues as i was attending the show right after work on Friday. I dont have time to go home and make it back fornthe show. What does one do?
  13. Has anyone received their tickets in the mail yet? I paid to have them delivered (in January 2019 =) ) but haven't heard anything as of yet.
  14. I am not sure of the availability of Blarkest Night splash pages (or action) but figured it couldn't hurt to ask!
  15. Does anyone know when comic guests (obviously Jim Lee is an awesome start) will be announced? Some artists, like Ken Lashley, have said they won't be coming already.
  16. What is the difference between the platinum and gold Death Metal tour 2020? It seems the same. (I can't see what I am missing 🤣)
  17. Thank you for keeping us up to date Kevin. Do you have a rough time frame when guest might be confirmed? Are we looking at something like August as the world waits to see what happens with the border?
  18. I know this sounds like a silly analogy but I used to like Wrestling (I was young ) and the best time of wrestling was when WWF and WCW were competing. The worst time was after WWE bought WCW and had no competition. I am afraid this is what would happen here.
  19. No, put you could do as the CDC does and let people that are fully vaccinated attend without a mask. For mingling sure, 60% might not due it, but let those tat are vaccinated get on with it. That's all.
  20. Kevin obviously can't say anything but we can report on rumors! A few artists have mentioned the third week of October as a likely landing spot.
  21. While obviously not the fault of Fan Expo thisnis frustrating. The vaccination rate will be north of 60% by then. When do we get to open the world up again?
  22. Has anyone ever had any luck contacting Fay Dalton? Does she have a dealer? I have tried quite a few times to contact her through the website but have never received a reply: https://www.faydalton.com/about
  23. Of course the show is always full of Canadian talent. What I am saying is, as you mention, to offset the potential lack of International talent setting up specific opportunities for sketches, remarks, etc. as has been done with people like Jock, the Comic Sketch Art group, etc. This has never excluded Canadians but, in this current climate, a specifically Canadian panel and signing/sketch opportunity would be interesting to many. In a terrible year have a book signed and sketched by numerous Canadian artists would have appeal. It would provide value to the VIP ticket and be a way for artists to potentially make a little extra money. So I am saying have a room with a bunch of Canadian artists with a CGC witness there. It has been done in the past and it allows people to move freely within a room and have it submitted at the end. It is efficient and really fun for those interested in such things. You always have a lot for Canadian artists, and that is great, I was just pontificating is this would be a year to highlight them as the International creator list might be a problem.
