Assuming this show happens is there any chance it will feature more Canadian Artists? In the past there have been good opportunities with people like Jock but it would be nice to have a Canadian Artist Panel with signing opportunities. Have a place like Gotham or Big B facilitated and submit books. It would be cool to have a book signed by a myriad of artists and submitted. Make remarks and sketches an option. It would be a great way to showcase Canadian artists and provide value to the show that might have limited guest options.

It took a while but I got a Frank Cho!

So I have someone who has contacted me about this book. It is a Publishers Proof and it is a PGX book (not great, I know). It is difficult to find a dollar value on it. There was a CGC book a few months ago that wasn't a publishers proof at 9.6 that went for around $1100. Not sure what to value mine at.

I know it is an odd thing to want but I just really enjoyed the cover work and I still like the 'fun' comics such as these. I have a few of the Dan Parent covers already but would love to see some from other artists. Has anyone seen them for sale? I tried contacting a few of the artists (Fay Dalton, Cat Staggs, Robert Hack) but they either don't answer or don't follow-up. Laura Braga has one for sale but it one of the few I would pass on.

The world hasn't been fun this past year so I find it helpful to bring together positive stories. Things that happened in a sale or a convention that made you further appreciate the collecting community. I was frantically trying to get to a few events at the 2019 Canada Fan Expo. As I always do I spent some time speaking with Dan Parent who may be the nicest and hardest working artist I have spoken with. While rummaging through my stuff trying to find a blank I inadvertently dropped my VIP badge.He not only noticed I dropped the badge but made the effort to walk around the show and find me to return it. Secondary props need to go to Fernando Ruiz who watched the booth while he went to look for me. A little thing but something I will remember. I will make sure to purchase something from Dan's booth whenever he is at a show I attend.

I see there are two Frank Cho books available on eBay but they aren't to my taste. I will find one eventually! (They are nice books, just not ones I would be looking for. While I hope this happens I am curious if we may have only Canadian guests?

Just a quick note here. It has been a terrible 2020 for pretty much everyone. I wanted to point out that people are still nice. Thank you to Palourguy for connecting with me on WhatsApp and went to the Frank Cho show in Hilo. He didn't have any sketch covers for sale but Palourguy went (and waited in line early) and asked for me, a person he has never met. The world may be falling apart but there are still a lot of nice people out there.

Is anyone going to the Maui Comics and Collectibles Frank Cho meeting on December 6th? If so and you may be willing to pick up a sketch cover (as he has some) please contact me. I am sure we could work it out something. I am in Canada and cannnot realistically make it to Hawaii!🤣

I am not the most prolific collector but I get it as well. It has always been hard for me to let things go but this year I sold a bunch of books and it didn't bother me one bit. I enjoy some comic art and unique items but I am not sure what to do with the X-men #1 that is just sitting in a box. Just owning them doesn't real bring joy anymore.

Now that you have had these a few years has there been any bowing?

I tried to get it and had one of the last bids. I went to $2500 and, even at that, I thought it was a bit high. Maybe for the best as I am not a huge Red Sonja fan. Are these commonly own on the boards. There was one for sale on the Comic Art Fans but it wasn't for me. It has Deadpool kissing Gwen. A cover of this i like is a new mission!

Any updates? Just had a friend in Toronto have a single book of the five he sent in returned. They charged full shipping for the one. Amazing.

I haven't bumped this so I felt one couldn't hurt. Even if people don't want to sell it would be nice to see them!

Has there still been no response from CGC? I understand it would cost more to send to Canada but I just sent a book to Florida and it cost me $20 Canadian. That is a far reach from $75 USD. At least give the option to ship it ground instead of air (that would save 40% or so).

Maybe I can reword my question. Let's assume that the con season is back in 2022 (the year doesn't matter). Once health is no longer the primary concern will Cons look different? Have artists come to discover that Cons don't do them much good? Will publishers be less likely to budget the expense as the digital avenues have improved?

I know I am looking ahead and the world could still be in turmoil but I wondered what people thought the 2021 Convention season will look like. If we assume that Cons run as they did in 2019 (I realize this may not happen, might not even be likely to happen, but it is for the purpose of the exercise) will they be bigger than ever? Will those artists that missed out on the money the Conventions bring in be even more eager to attend or will have the quarantine shown them they can sell as much over Facebook as they did in person? Will it differ depending upon the marketability of the artist? What about the individual sellers or the merchants?

As I continue to look for these Frank Cho books there are quite a few of them as images (meaning they exist) but not many prior sales. Is this a sign that those people are simply not letting go of them? I know I wouldn't

Any updates on this show? As I sit hear lamenting the face that I am not at Fan Expo Canada I can't help but wonder about the November show.

Frank Cho sketch covers. They are rarely available in an auction setting.

Good afternoon Jennifer, To add to this quesiton of shipping can we, in Canada, combine shipping for CGC Private Signing Events? I was going to submit something to Bill Morrison and Skottie Young. While I would rather not pay $75 for shipping I simple cannot justify paying $75 for each book. Is there a way to combine them? Through check-out we are forced to choose the $75 shipping and a second signing cannot be added to the checkout. Is there a way around this? I look forward to a reply. John

My understanding is he will do a few at shows if he has free time. The ideas are always his (again from what I understand).

I know they are difficult to find and not often parted with but I felt it couldn't hurt to ask. Does anyone have a Frank Cho outrage cover for sale? (I posted this same ask in the Original Art forum and they suggested I try here)
