Somewhere in the VG range. The bottom edge has a lot of color-breaking creases and there appears to be faint horizontal and vertical color-breaking creases across the book.

I think we can all agree good superhero movies are good for the comic book collecting hobby. But I don't see a special spike in GA Superman and Batman because of a successful JLA film franchise. Those books will continue to steadily and naturally climb in value if the hobby remains healthy. I could see renewed interest in certain keys like Brave and the Bold 28 if the JLA film is a huge hit like the Avengers films.

A detached centerfold on an otherwise perfect book will knock it down to 7.0 Since your book has some additional pieces loose, it would grade somewhere below that. I'd keep it as a nice presenting reading copy. Detached pages can be fixed via restoration but on a non-key, relatively common book like this, it will lower the value even more. Similar story with grading, since it's a mid-grade non-key, it won't be worth the effort unless for some reason you really want it to be in a slab. Hope this was helpful.

Maybe I'm being swooned by the lovely Baker cover but 2.5-3.0 seems harsh for this. The sub-crease caps the grade out at 5.0 and then the grease stain probably knocks it down another point? I'd say 4.0 for this.

If it's a production error, it should not hurt the grade. 

If it's a counterfeit cover, obviously it will grade 0.5 as a coverless copy and take a massive value hit.

If it's a married cover, it will get hit with a qualified green label and take a very significant value hit (50% or more)

I would imagine CGC would be able to help you get to the bottom of this as they have experience looking at staples and determining if pages/covers are married. But you'll have to decide if that investigation/peace of mind is worth the cost. I poked around older threads and it seems there have been other cases (but with Silver Age books) with the same extra staples production issue you may have here.

My answer is a confident no. If Sub-Mariner takes off because of a cool MCU appearance, this book will still play 2nd or 3rd fiddle to the other Sub-Mariner keys (GA or SA). This sorta feels like asking if Cap 100 will become a big key and I think we all agree that Avengers 4 will always be the SA Cap big key book to own. In Sub-Mariner's case, I think the SA key will always be FF4. 

Interesting book! Well we can say with certainty that the cover was re-attached--the question is if it was a production-related error/fix of some sort or an after-market modification. If the cover were counterfeit, it seems more likely the counterfeiter would try to marry the cover using the original two staples? This makes me think it is more likely a bizarre production issue. I can't really tell from the photos but if the extra staples are identical it would help the production error theory.

I know for older books (e.g., GA or SA), an unobtrusive penciled date or a stamp does not affect the grade since that was a pretty common practice at the time. I'm not sure if that applies for Copper Age books where the practice isn't as widespread. Also is that actually a date? (I can't quite make it out... 4-1?) Sorry I couldn't be more helpful and maybe someone else can chime in as well.

I compared the colors to another copy of the book and I would rate the cover fading as pretty major. The background is supposed to be midnight blue, the villain's checkered jacket is supposed to be a deep purple, and Batman's cape is supposed to be blue. I don't see this copy grading above VG because of this. I'd keep this as a reading copy and not bother with grading it.

I think a cover detached at one staple knocks the book down to a 6.0

From the pics I don't see any sort of defects that would benefit from a press (e.g., spine roll, reading crease, non-color-breaking bends).

It definitely affects the value in a negative manner as the book is technically incomplete. Does the missing coupon affect a story page on the other side of it? (If yes, it's a bigger value hit)

Learning towards 1.8 with this one. Cover looks still attached at the top staple.

Wow this one surprised me! I would've thought the unpressable defects on the bottom right corner would keep this squarely in the VG range. Congrats!

Hmm I have some green label Silver Age books that were missing an ad page but did not impact the story. So my best guess is a 9.8 Qualified label here?

I was in your shoes recently and in fact I think I looked at these same books when I was considering my options! I'd encourage you to be patient as this is not a rare book and more options will continue to pop up. As others have said, I would prioritize things like color strike, unrestored, and general eye appeal. I ended up buying a 3.0 with Marvel chipping, a long color-breaking crease in the top right, detached CF, and a small amount of tape on the interior cover but I thought it it had great eye appeal and the main image of Spidey on the cover was bright and had no flaws. I would pass on these three you posted. Good luck with the hunt!

I've seen books with detached covers grade in the 3.0 range (and higher if it's GA). Furthermore, I've seen books with detached covers AND completely split spines grade 1.5-1.8. I'd probably put your book somewhere in between (2.0 - 2.5).

This looks like a classic VG to me.

Agree with others that this is in the FN range. As for rationale, I think the recessed staples + general spine wear keep it squarely out of the VF range. But there aren't enough defects to bump the grade any lower to VG.
