  1. Yes. They notorious because of the height of getting easily damaged. The story was that back then there was printer in San Antonio that was not used to doing comics and when AP approached them this was what they could do. It is not even saddle stitched but glued.
  2. I think someone mentioned it before but who exactly were these ads aimed at? This is from an AIRBOY comic from 1945.
  3. VERY IMPRESSIVE! That silver foil edition is notorious for getting scratches and dents so congrats on the grade.
  4. Very nice. That issue 4 is notorious to find in high grade due to the black cover and the cheap paper. 1980’s printing was a spoon shot back then. I also see u have subscribers copy of issue 70. Only about 20 of those exist.
  5. Wow! Congrats! That's a hard issue to find in high grade due to cover being printed on a thick card stock.
  6. Here is FURRLOUGH issue 1. The first Antarctic Press comic anthology that featured "furries". It lasted over 150 issues!
  7. EXTREMELY SILLY COMICS vol.2 #1! Star Trek parody cover !
  8. The REAL origin of the eye-patch! Not some stupid cat scratch!
  9. Antarctic Press brought back Steve Gallacci's ALBEDO after the first run ended starting a long run with furry comics.
  10. Antarctic Press worked with STAN SAKAI to bring the first comic accurate version of his character in action figure form. It was a modest success and there were plans to do more but then the market crashed. Antarctic Press reportedly had large numbers of unsold figures destroyed as per contract. .
  11. I think you'll like them depending on your taste. The TRUDYVERSE is very kookie. The SERINA series is a WARRIOR NUN spin-off and is a part of the universe. The others are manga series except for HITOMI which is a NINJA HIGH SCHOOL series.
  12. Those are good pick ups. The Serina and Trudyverse are early David Hahn comics.
  13. NINJA HIGH SCHOOL Yearbook issue 6 features a STAN SAKAI's SPACE USAGI crossing over with NHS.
  14. Could be the 1st US appearance of SAILOR MOON...
  15. MANGAZINE vol.1 issue 5 features a very early story by DAVE (DAVID) JOHNSON who would later do SUPERMAN:RED SON .
  16. Was Nick Fury based on Jack Kirby? I had heard stories that Stan Lee used Jack as a template for Nick since he actually served in the war. Has anyone heard this or am I having a Mandela effect?
  17. The CRIMSON NUN mini-series has covers by an then unknown artist ESAS REBIC.
  18. Didn't Marvel do a modern update on the Howling Commandos?
  19. Oh absolutely. I even thought that it was sort of proto-Sgt. Fury film. They did make an appearance in FIRST AVENGER though but I had wished they would had done more with them.
  20. Wow! Such good timing. Those early strange tales seemed really prone to marvel chipping.
  21. NINJA HIGH SCHOOL #1! One of the oldest running (if not the oldest) manga inspired indie comics. Started in 1987 and is now on issue 186. Now celebrating its 35th anniversary!
  22. Yes. Totally! I've been on the hunt for one and I have never seen on as beautiful as that. They are always beat up to hell. What's the story? Did you buy it off the rack cause that is what I'm thinking.
