If there are pieces that look like they can break off, or the spine could detach, I wouldn't risk the extra handling. Otherwise, I'm a fan of cleaning and pressing even if you DON'T get a grade bump. A cleaned and pressed 2.0 can look a WHOLE lot nicer than a not cleaned and pressed 2.0. But there is always a risk the more places you send your book.

"If stored properly". Yes. As long as you keep them stored. But if you want to take the books out, look at them, show them to people, encapsulation protects better than any bag / board.

I would absolutely list "Possibly pressable defect" and then describe what and where. I would not say anything about chance at better grade.

Oh I wouldn't do it on a high value item. I mean like i have a run of all Jim Lee's covers on X-men. I had 14 9.6s and one 9.8. I did a straight trade with a buddy. Difference between a $35 book and $50 book probably.

I feel you. All my runs have matching grades. I've straight traded a 9.8 for a 9.6 before because all my other books were 9.6.

I use half backs and mylites and have never had a problem. Most likely someone got the wrong sizes. However, it isn't like it's impossible that they got the correct sizes but were errantly given the wrong sizes, either miss labeled or mistakenly shipped.

So you think the W instead of the OW/W is worth the grade drop? You prefer whole numbers? Or you have other 9.0s and you want the grades to match?

That X-men 1 9.0 makes my heart skip a beat. Is that a book you got raw a long time ago? I love my collection, but my biggest books are under $15k. A $200k book blows me away. The stories behind it are always interesting to me. Amazing books.

I couldn't agree more. I have an X-men 1. But now I want to start collecting the interior pages so I can appreciate and showcase them as well.

But you wouldn't be interested in the Thor origin page from Jim83 or the Xmen introduction from X1? Is it because you have / can afford the full book?

Was it certified / encapsulated? What page was it? Do you mind me asking what you paid for it? Trying to gauge where the market is. Sales have been pretty random and sporadic so far.

Good for you. If you are in the financial position to get one that's awesome. But for a lot of people the chance to own an AF15 is gone forever and a lot of those other books are coming up fast. I have plenty of friends in their 30s that can't spend $10k on an X-men 1. By the time they might be able to that book will be twice as much. It's all about timing and where you are in life. For someone starting out in collecting in their teens or 20s those silver age grails are as far away as the golden age ones probably are for you.

With silver age mega key prices getting away from most collectors, even for super low grade copies, would you pay for a single page certified by CGC? I mean AF15, X1, H1, FF1, JiM83, ToS39, etc. I've been thinking about it. I think it displays really nicely and it would be cool to at least have a part of comic I wish I could have.

I bought this just because it was my birthday book. I'd never heard anyone else talk about that till I saw this post. Cool.

How so? He was a hired employee. He didn't come up with the idea. He took someone else's idea and copied it. You can find the argument lacking merit all you want, doesn't change that CBCS is simply a copycat of CGC. They even basically copied how the labels and case look. Is there anywhere that CBCS innovated?

I don't see any image you posted that appears to be missing magenta. It is less magenta, but there is still magenta. Lots of color on that cover can't be made with just Cyan, Yellow, and black.

I once had a seller block me on ebay. He was trying to charge me more for shipping 9 slabs than 3x what he charged to ship 3 slabs. I politely told him to simply ship me 3 separate packages if it was cheaper. We went back and forth and then he blocked me. Kind of sucked because he sold a lot of what I buy and his auctions were reasonable. I actually created a second account just to keep buying from him.

What are your thoughts on the ending? I personally like the ending in the movie better, although I know that opinion is somewhat blasphemous to some.

1,000 comics is less than 3 a day on average. That's 30-45 minutes. So it is a bit of a goal, but nothing all that arduous.
