  1. SOLD Incredible Hulk 340 NM was $240 now $200 A few barely noticeable spine ticks and a non color breaking crease top left of the back cover. Looks like a great press candidate. I won't be heartbroken if it doesn’t go.
  2. SOLD X-Men 266 was $225 now $200 NM to NM- Extremely small CBC bottom left front cover, some color rub on the back cover otherwise a very crisp book.
  3. It's been a long time coming that I shed some comic weight. Those of you who I have bought from over the last few years know how I operate. I love these boards and treat them and my fellow boardies with respect. Kudos Thread: https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/509922-lurker89s-kudos-thread/ Lets get to it. The rules: No HOS or Probies first "I'll Take It" or wins and trumps ongoing PMs -Payment due within 5 days unless otherwise arranged in advance. -I accept and strongly prefer Paypal. I will also accept money orders. Shipping- shipping 1-8 books in the US will be $8. My intention is to ship within 48 of receiving payment. Shipping to US and Canada only unless otherwise arranged. Other than the 1-8 books shipping as stated above Shipping billed at cost via a second invoice. Raw books will be sent in a Reptillian Overlord comic mailer via First Class Mail for 1-8 books. Priority flat rate box for more than 8. Additional insurance can be purchased at buyer's cost. If in general you would prefer your books be shipped in a priorty flat rate box or some other manner I will do what I can conform to most buyers shipping requests at their expense. Grading- I will not grade any higher than NM (9.2- 9.4) I do my best to be as accurate as possible if you would like additional pictures I can provide. Feel free to PM if you think something is inaccurate. Returns- Sales are generally final. There can be exceptions made if something is unintentionally misrepresented on my end. On to the books....
  4. Hey fellow boardies, Planning on selling some of my books here in the near future so figured it was time to get the Kudos Thread up and running. I have bought a few books here over the last couple of years and it has been a great experience for all involved. Bought from: @SOLAR BOY @devo3000x @Tbone911t I highly suggest working with and buying from all three they were great guys and helped me out with some awesome books. Thanks in advance, Mike(Lurker89)
  5. It does however rest its eyes. I'd like to leave it in its original distribution form rusty staples and all.
  6. I'll take a back picture when I get home from work today and throw it up here. Nothing on it from my recollection though.
  7. Cool thanks for the info. Anyone else have any info on these? Was a certain percentage of these stapled off the press and designated as "mailers"?
  8. My lovely wife knowing I'm a Moon Knight nut purchased me a beautiful copy of Comic Reader 126 celebrating us being together 12 years. The only thing that immediately jumped out at me was that the book was stapled shut. One of my best friends hooked her up with the seller, he informed me the staple was intentional at printing. I figured I'd ask if anyone here had any insight into this practice or it's purpose. The staple looks original and intentional but obviously all copies were not stapled this way.

  10. The market dictates.... That being said I agree on IH271 and disagree on HOS92/SW1... for my own reasons
  11. Also let's see a pic 😜 I buy Voldy but I will not buy PGX on principle.
  12. PGX and CGC do not have the same grading criteria. It will come back lower. eBay seller is not be responsible for the difference in grade. You bought a PGX book with a PGX grade not a CGC book with a CGC grade. Don't buy PGX Welcome to the boards.
  13. I own it to love and preserve it. The history major that I was likes to think I'm preserving history with. The nerd in me just loves having high grade rare gems and first appearances of my favorite characters. I do enjoy preserving condition for sure and would be very unhappy with myself if I damaged the book
  14. I appreciate the find on HA. Sounds like I found a nice rare-ish gem. As far as handling it to put it in PGM the the delicate spine gives me the willies I would hate to pull it out and and have an oopsie, I'm sure I'll muster the courage at some point though. I wonder how those of you who have collected gold for some time view this. Should I just get it encapsulated as is, hoping for a 2.0 +. Or Should I aim for the new fangled conserved label and see if I can find a historian/archivist/Indiana Jones to "conserve" the book mainly the spine. I apologize in advance if this conserved idea is anathema to community standards

Should I just get it encapsulated as is, hoping for a 2.0 (anybody know if I'm in the ballpark with that idea of a grade). 16. @onlyweaknesskryptonite you too buddy .... Shhhhh 😜
  17. @kav @Buzzetta We'll always have our secret time together 😘
  18. Thanks , I think I did well price wise and love the cover. Just reposted this in the Golden Age Thread didn't realize I was in Comics General and know someone may call me out on it. Though I could argue it's a general comics discussion
  19. Hello my distinguished friends. Been a member here for a while lurked here many years longer. I mostly collect bronze age but I have always wanted to jump into the Golden Age with you fine gentlemen. Recently I traded a chunk of books to one of my local shops for this nice piece of entry gold: I have plenty of golden age targets but actually collecting Golden Age is new to me and proper value is hard to determine for a newbie to these golden halls. So I have come you to guys to see how I did. The price tag was $250 My trade value was a good chunk over $300 but I had to make it worth the shops time. The book presents really well but has ample issues. The main one being a spine split affecting the cover only that goes up the bottom third of the book and looks like it it would gladly run another third if handled improperly. There is also a slight moisture stain on the top left and other general wear. Hopefully some of you guys have some ideas on where a grade would land. I'd be happy with a 2.0 but am a man in a strange new land when it comes to Golden Age beauties like this.
