  1. Awesome Book Raj. Great book from a great seller guys. Took me forever to find my Warrior #1 in a desirable condition. GLWTS
  2. I'm down to give it a chance. Dark serious vibe. We bounce back and fourth between good and bad Batmen ... Keaton good followed by a slew of bad until we get to Bale followed by Affleck bad ... And hopefully Pattinson good. Time will tell. The tone seems to check out so far.
  3. It was a good hunt finding it. Very happy to have it
  4. My runs are pretty weak compared to some of the majestic ones I'm seeing in this thread but I love em. I've been focusing on keys and FAs of Favorite characters.
  5. My competed runs off the top of my head. Demon. Vol 1, Vol 2 and nearly all of volume 3 All of the Danny Ketch Ghost Rider. Moon Knight Vol 1, 2,3,4 and Volume 8 Marc Spector Moon Knight. ASM 297-401 Most early Venom Runs Thanos Vol 1, Vol 2 Carnage Vol 2 V for Vendetta
  6. Thanks man. You and I both. I'll get there just have to trust the process..... It's gotten me this far.
  7. Living on a budget with kids, while being in my early 30's, in the tax saturated Northeast has meant purchasing any one of my personal grail keys has been methodically planned out. I'm already tapped out this year. I know what books I'm buying for the next two years. I have plans for the next five years. This year's books were an upgrade for my WBN 32 and Hunting down a Warrior Magazine #1. Both aquired through these boards and some awesome boardies. Next year my goal is a 6.0 Marvel Spotlight #5. Followed by ASM 129 and HOS 92.
  8. Ghostly Weird Stories 122 is such an awesome LB Cole book definitely on the list of books to purchase if I'm ever able to become a distinguished gentleman like many here. Someday I hope to move up from my bronze FA collecting and have a few nice pieces of gold to go with them. Awesome books for an awesome cause GLWTS.
  9. If you have to ask you'll never know. (Basically the motto of the boards)
  10. Along with "Over 9000" please and thank you.
  11. That is correct.... The moderators will be through to black bag you shortly
  12. @William-James88 There is a fun "Inside Jokes ony board members would understand" thread going on in Comics General. It's very enlightening if you can read between the lines.
  13. Yes the proverbial "he who shall not be named" These boards are very "If you have to ask you'll never know" Meanwhile some boardies above are not minding their subtleties.
  14. Help me @theCapraAegagrus your my only hope. Im guessing this is what you were warning against.
  15. Being a family man in my thirties I can only afford one big book a year and to maximize on getting the FA's of my favorite characters I've resigned myself to collecting in the 6.0-7.0 range on my personal Grails. So far it's a 6.0 WBN 32, 6.0 IM 55, 6.5 Strange Adventures 205, 8.0 Warrior Magazine 1, and an 8.0 Swamp Thing 1 all CGC Graded along , NM- VF+ Range ASM 300 Raw that I will someday send in to CGC to be gravely disappointed when it comes back and 8.0. I've put off getting my MS 5 too long it's next on the list. It's till so expensive for me at a 6.0 I have a few Voldys that I could not pass up the deal on. If given the option same deal same book I'd go CGC every time as a matter of preference but I don't mind the Voldys at the end of the day.
  16. The fact that the ASM 129 is sitting right on top and is not in a sleeve is giving me anxiety...... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SOMEBODY BAG AND BOARD THAT BOOK!!!! That book alone will make you a happy camper even in the 6.0 range it's probably in.
  17. CGC remains the standard bearer in grading quality, slab quality, and overall reputation in the community. The others guys labels are perforated which looks a bush league in the case up close.... Just cut the paper guys. I've already said too much. ALL HAIL CGC!!!!
  18. Things do get pretty Orwellian around here. Hence why they should only be refered to by their pseudonym.
  19. No need to be 9.8 or bust I'm very happy with my 6.0 WBN 32. Got to love how touchy people get when someone mentions Voldy. As long as you are not going PGX to grade your books you're in good shape. I strongly prefer CGC over the other main competitor but they both do good work. The CGC case feels much better in hand.
  20. The adrenaline junkie in me says that would be a welcome change of pace, as long as my parachute isn't filled with silverware.
  21. I've already sat her down and told her she can sell once my corpse is cold in the ground. I'm a dragon and comics are my gold. “My advice to you, my violent friend, is to seek out gold and sit on it.”
  22. Same company that makes slab pros makes a reusable UV protector. I have them on all the slabs I have on display. My wife thinks I'm nuts for wanting my displays in the least light drenched parts of rooms.
  23. Question as I begin reading this manufactured gold tome. (I've bookmarked and will get through it, it's already great 5 pages in. People are irate ) In the current pressing process at CGC is a solvent used or is it just steam? Another question for the people on the pressing is restoration side of things, do you consider disassembly restoration? Do you consider replacing staple with in age staples resto? Just curious as to where some people are drawing lines.
  24. Appreciate the linkage fellas, interested in the debate..... Holy 129 pages Batman!!!!
  25. I seem to have opened a can of worms. I am interested in the merits of both sides of the argument. I'd like to hear other people opinions but I don't want to hijack the thread which is focused on the disassembly of GA books. I also don't want to start a flame war I save that for the other boards I'm a member of. I lean towards pressing is not restoration. My opinion doesn't really matter though, I've never pressed a book but I have no issue buying pressed books. I lean this way because at the end of the process all moisture is no longer present. Books with water damage aren't restored they are just damaged. If the press did anything negative to the book would just be damaged imo. Triming, color touching, tear sealing are substantially adding to or subtracting from the book to alter it fundamentally. A steamy smush is different than those methods in my flawed opinion. But like I said I don't press books personally. I wouldn't mind CGC pressing and grading a couple books I'll be sending in to them in the near future hopefully they don't eff up my books.
