6.5 looks really hi grade🥰🥰
Thanks, it's too bad it has that soiling in the back, since the lack of big tears or colour break would make it a great pressing candidate otherwise.

Horrible. I will never use them again. I sold some other collectibles through them and they botched the whole auction up.
In which way? Is the listing still up in their archives?

Sold to a well known comic dealer in Colorado. More than doubled my $$. So much for that.
How much did you buy it for and how much did you sell it for?

Very curious of your heritage experience, would you mind sharing?

I am new to the grading process. I have some books worth more than this figure I want graded. It says "walk in" only for these. I obviously can't walk in from across the country. How can I submit them?
Walk in just means the same day and you have to pick that option regardless of how far you are because that's the only option that grades books valued as much as yours.

After looking at the new pix, I agree. That "spine crease"on the UBC isn't going anywhere - it's more like a cut. Nice attractive copy, nonetheless - do you really "need" a higher grade?
No, I dont need a higher grade. But I would want the most from my purchase so I figured I would ask.
Also, I thought in hand was referring to the slabbed comic being in my possession, sorry.

You've cracked it out already?
No, not yet, was waiting for opinion of people more knowledgable in this sort of thing, such as this fine community. I will take some pics of the back later and add them in.

Oh right, I forgot about Superboy 0, as cheap a key as can be.

You'd have to see it in hand before making that judgment. And btw, if you bought it through Heritage, the likelihood is it's already been pressed.
Thanks. I have it in hand, I just used their image because my scanner is too small. It looks great in hand, aside from the mentioned spine stress. That's why I thought a press would work wonders for it. Wouldn't a press have removed these spine creases?

This isn’t the place either to start threads about pressing individual books or not if you plan on keeping this up. There’s a grading section on the boards where these types of threads are more at home and will likely get you more responses.
thank you, I shall repost these questions there then. Any mod, feel free to remove these threads.

It is hard and next to impossible to answer your questions from what you provided on either of the Fawcetts you inquired about.
Either way, I would say no. The return on your time and money wouldn’t make much difference on either of these.
Thanks for the incite.

I purchased this book already slabbed and was wondering what the issue was from stopping this book to go higher. So I got the grader notes:
multiple crease full top of back cover
multiple crease left top of front cover
tear with crease top of front cover
Do you guys think it's worth doing the whole CPR thing with this book?

Front looks nicer than a 9.0.
Back cover scan?
My personal scanner is smaller than a slab but I could only take a pic when I get home. This is the image from the seller and they had not provided the back image. The issue seems to be from that small dust shadow at the bottom of the front cover, which is noted as minor soiling in the grader notes. Not sure if that can get cleaned out or if it's what's bringing down the grade rather than the spine creases.

Batman 655. Just wait till Damian shows up in a movie.
Isn't Damian's first appearance Batman: Son of the Demon 1987?
Also speaking of affordable keys, Uncanny X-Men #316 can be found in dollar bins still.

light spine stress lines to cover
very light creasing to cover
very light staining to cover

That's Heritage. The biggest of the big, and 100% dedicated to customer service and satisfaction. You shouldn't feel any hesitation in buying with the complete confidence that if you're not totally happy with your purchase, that you have to grin and bear it. And they don't handle business that way because paypal is breathing down their neck. That's just the way they do business. It's how they became #1.
I do really hate their practice of putting a lot of responsibility on the buyer's end to see if there is anything wrong with the comic.
Sure, they accept returns for anything not disclosed, and thus are able to list more books by spending less time evaluating them properly. I am going to a downtown fed ex location today to send back 2 books that they didn't grade properly (due to not looking at the back or scanning the back), it's a hassle I don't need.
And this hassle can make people, like callaway, choose do just do nothing about it. Plus, they ask for a premium for paypal transactions, providing further penalty/obstacles for buyers to use this extra guarantee of returned funds in their transaction. It's just a shady way of doing business overall.

Oh I'd always disclose EVERYTHING when selling. I think with this one its superb in the hand and it will go to a buyer who wants a 7.5 to 8.00 looking book in the hand but on closer inspection has a few faults.
Its very obviously not restored or trimmed.Yeah, for sure it would be the easiest midgrade book to sell since it looks to be a higher grade than it is.

I think he's grading a bit low but he does loads of these.
I've done some research and seen that books with 1 staple off on the centre spread have graded very high and some low. As with all this stuff it seems quite inconsistent.
I would trust him then. Looking at the grading guide I posted above, he is right for a raw book, on a technical basis. You'll notice that the only grade where a non margin tear inside the comic is allowed is a 5.0. So technically, if someone sold a raw book on e-bay and said this was a 7.0 and didn't disclose the tear inside, then you could return it saying the grade stated does not allow for a tear (I have done so before for other undisclosed defects like chips and stains only found on the back cover, which the seller did not show).
Of course, CGC could always choose to bump it up, I personally feel a 6.0 would be a fair grade for this as is, but it's at their discretion. They could be very strict with the guidelines listed above (as they are with stains) and stick with a 5.0. You'd really have to send it in to find out.
The staple off on the center spread is a question I can answer (though , I think in your case, both staples are secure right?).
Check the guidelines above and you will see that it really depends on whether the staple is detached naturally (aka loose) or if it's actually detached by wear (the part I put in bold). CGC does not distinguish between the two on their notes on the slab, but the defects are different and can have huge differences in grade. If the staple is loose naturally, it can still be a nice grade. But if it's detached due to wear and tear at one staple, then you end up with a 4.0, and if it's been ripped out at both staples, then you sink even lower to 2.0.
So the reason for it being not secure makes a big difference and the grades can range from 2.0-7.0 with the main defect being linked to staples.
Word of advice though, if you want to sell this book raw then just disclose everything as you did in your post. I would not say a definite grade, just say what it looks like and let the buyer judge for themselves if they feel the book is worth the price you list it as.

When did she return with a long sequence of teasers? Where did she go that she even needed to return?
her into was a few teasers, it was a joke that they kept missing eachother and you didn't see her full appearance for a while. But yeah, aside from a stint where she went away to become an actress she did indeed become a mainstay, I was thinking more of the tease part.

Nice book. I'd agree with a gut feeling of 7.5/8.0 range. I do feel like (and could be misremembering?) we have occasionally seen slabbed books with heavy dust shadows that graded surprisingly high.
Thanks, here's another book I'm not sure about, and it has a similar issue. I own this one, so I also provide a view of the back.

Thanks for responding and yeah, I can absolutely understand how that happened. It's really dumb on their behalf to have sold it that way, not only did they shoot themselves in the foot but they also destroyed what could have been a very fruitful partnership with you.
