  1. There's zero chance that's a 9.8, but there's a good chance that's a Dupcak account, many threads on the board about him. https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/358923-kellyssuperheroes/
  2. Well look at that! Lol. Thank you! And if you want to quote a chain of multiple posts like above click at the top of the first post and drag down to the bottom of the last post (2 in this case) and then click the 'quote selection' black box that pops up. Except for the times it doesn't pop up, which happens fairly regularly for some folks.
  3. No comprendo. To me, the narrator looks the same in both the pencils/xeroxed pencils and the final inked version. One of the reasons Royer wound up being Jack’s main inker during that '70s period is because he did as Jack wanted, he followed Jack’s line.
  4. I don't collect DCs except for the oddball issue here and there. I haven't seen prices dropping on any of the Marvel titles I collect, which is most of them.
  5. What were the items? Will you stop selling them?
  6. A high resolution photo would be large. That one is is thumbnail sized, about 500 x 700 pixels. Crappy picture notwithstanding, it doesn’t look faded to me, and the variations from the 2 pictures are most likely because they were made on 2 different scanners with different settings to boot, and one was trying to capture the image though the slab. With different settings and adjustments, they might look like this:
  7. There's plenty of good sellers on ebay, including a lot of board members.
  8. I don’t want to be an azz and I’m glad the OP got his dough back, but as a general caveat, unless you know the seller I would recommend avoiding big ticket purchases from sellers who’ve only been on ebay for a few months with a track record of 2 sales.
  9. What I see most on here and find even more annoying is the use of "sell" instead of "sale".
  10. Maybe part of the problem LordRahl and October refer to is regional. For shows in my neck of the woods, there’s often a mix of dealers with books ranging from bargains to FMV to mutliples of Guide or GPA. Usually I just pass by the folks who’ve priced books at 2x-3x OS/FMV/GPA trends. Sounds like certain shows only the Superpriced guys set up. Don’t want to contribute to an Us vs. Them mentality but let’s face it, some people price their books very aggressively. (Even nice guys that I like.) Conversely, some buyers are complete tools. I remember one clown trying to beat up a dealer on his Marvel Superheroes #12 that was priced reasonably, but not as low as a recent sale on Clink. This guy went on and on trying to convince the dealer it was too high; I was dying to blurt out “Well, why didn’t you buy it on ComiclInk then?” One thing I’ve found that doesn’t seem to get mentioned much is that cultivating relationships is something to consider. Pretty much everybody I buy from regularly takes some off the top without even being asked, and I’m no B. Ketterer, Esq.
  11. You might have a valid shipping address, but does it match your ebay and PayPal accounts?
  12. Dennis is a good guy, honest and also a former board member. If he says something was wrong with your address, I'm inclined to believe something didn't match up and he wasn't going to risk shipping an item worth over 2k.
  13. That's how the comic was made. Front and back in a real slab looks like this:
  14. What kind of slab is that? Where's the upper CGC insert? How about a shot of the entire book?
  15. Indeed, what kind of slab is that? Where's the upper CGC insert? How about a shot of the entire book?
  16. A bit late to jump in here, but why let that stop me? I've been collecting since 1975. The Punisher has always been a popular character and #129 always in demand. Prices have always been more than surrounding issues, though of course not at the multiples we see today. Here's a scan over Overstreet #8 from 1978, the oldest one I could lay my hands on quickly. #129 and GS #4 are both singled out. Prices are listed the same than surrounding issues but that wasn't the case in the real world. Back then, just as today, the guide often lagged with hot or popular books.#129 was always harder to find and more expensive which is why I didn't own a copy for a number of years.
  17. These didn't come from a collection in Ohio. I found them in a fort in the woods.
  18. I completely disagree with this. Plenty of people look down on GLODs Yup. Whether PLOD or GLOD and even if a big key, value takes a hit. They are simply not as desirable and are considered second rate. In fact, if choosing between a GLOD with missing pages or cutouts and a PLOD that's complete, I'd go for the PLOD.
  19. On top of Point Five's sage advice, there's a good chance that's a Dupcak account, many threads on the board about it and him.
