  1. CGC really pulled a boner with the new case fiasco, but I’d ban this guy, too. He's not the type of customer I'd want to deal with. And it’s not as if he can never send a book in again, there are other channels besides sending it in yourself.
  2. Here's a few Atlas I recently picked up. I think this might be my favorite multi-panel cover:
  3. Not a huge DC fan, but I needed a copy of this book. It has Kane art and Frazetta art (a reprint I think) but more importantly, the only western story Kirby drew for DC.
  4. Those other books I posted in the Daredevil thread I've had a while; just stuck them up since Rob bumped the thread.
  5. Picked this up on vacation a few weeks ago. The overhang dings look worse in the scan than in hand.
  6. I wonder is there was a small cache of them at some point. I'll need to pull mine out, but as I recall it was a nice one, too.
  7. Lower grade , but still pretty cool in my book.
  8. Here’s another: 925swordfish30 He wins an auction for $10 on a Sunday night and messages in the morning asking to cancel since his wallet was stolen at SDCC and he’s waiting on replacement cards. Right. So, I file for cancellation that morning and he never responds. A week goes by as he ignores it and makes purchases from other sellers while I wait on sending a second chance offer to the underbidder. What a tool.
  9. KCO is a true monster book, the guy is an alien just like on the cover. I'd put RK 22 as the next most "monsterish" and I'll concede on the other two. But TGK 58 has a lame cover IMO and the story failed to do anything for me when I did own a copy or two, while KCO 100 just has a spectacular cover. The completionist in me is torn... An alien yes, but drawn by Jack Keller. I try not to be disparaging about artists but his work on those Kid Colt books really dampens my enthusiasm for reading them. I always prefer the backup stories by other folks. I haven't read the Totem in a while, but the dino-critter from TGK #58 aesthetically would fit right into an early Tales of Suspense or Tales to Astonish. I agree it has a weak cover, looks like a bit of a rush job.
  10. Wow! Those are fantastic, might be the best copies I've ever seen. Congrats! None of them are "true" monster books, but I'd put KCO #100 as the odd man out. The dino-creature in TGK #58 even though phony is drawn like every other Kirby/Ayers house-stomper and appears in panel after panel.
  11. Says Mr. FCD. I wish I knew what that acronym stands for. Free Comic Day? Fuel Cut Defender? Friend of Charles Darwin? Full Contact Dance? Fire Creating Device? Freight Customs Declarer? Felony Conviction Dude? Foreign Carrier Detector? Frequent Customer Discount? Maybe if you tried your hand at it sometime, you'd know. Still no answers. FCD

  13. It was different for sure, that type of salesmanship was definitely not as commonplace as it is these days.
  14. GPA records results from eBay and pretty much all the large auction houses (except Comiclink) Comiclink refused to partner with GPA because they have many new breaking records on sales. My books were sold via Comiclink. One book was sold for over $8K that was nearly 3 times higher than I expected. GPA may be irrelevant. Comiclink may have had great sales that have broken records, but I believe that they refused to partner up with GPA because of their poor record-breaking sales. Yup. This comes up very often. GPA doesn’t include Comiclink sales because Comiclink only wanted to selectively give data – i..e. just the big sales, not all the sales. It played out right here on the boards.
