  1. Neither fish nor fowl, from the ghost world between GA and SA sprang the Yellow Claw.
  2. If you're taking requests, do one about the JIM 83 issue. Eagerly awaiting his next drama filled sales thread. He's had a few. Sometimes there is a common denominator Or maybe a charity thread...vague terms work there too. That was my first and last dealing.
  3. Will this include what to do after arriving at the con and realizing the support racks have been left behind?
  4. Here is another one for everybody: crispys0cks He bought a VG+ DD #13 with a tiny and light arrival date penciled on the cover, completely visible in the large scans I included, but gave me my first neg over it. From 1999 until now I had 100% feedback. I don’t sell a ton of stuff, so it will take a while for me to work my way back up from 98.8%. He did not contact me before leaving the neg. What a tool. Here’s a scan of the front (front and back included in the listing) and a link to the auction. The auction listing.
  5. Awesome book. David Tennant is going to 'splode that book, I think. I think so, too. I sure hope not. I only need 3 issues between 1-10, and that's one of them of course.
  6. I’m not crazy about modern TV shows but the missus and I have watched the first two episodes and have been enjoying it a lot. It’s a little violent for my tastes (which have changed a bit as I get older) and I’m not crazy about Deborah Van Woll as Karen Page, but overall it’s a quite solid show. The missus likes the grittiness and I think both of us find it more engaging than Agents of Shield and Agent Carter. I got tired of trying to get into Agents of Shield - it felt like work; Agent Carter was better but didn’t draw me in the way DD did. It's too bad the future seems to be in limbo.
  7. And what nincompoop said that? I think I remember, but I'll leave it up to Blowie.
  8. The female figure is Catwoman. I don't think lower grade Mego figures go for much, but G.A.tor is the resident expert. I don't know Star wars from Adam, but isn't the brown guy a generic sand-dweller and not a specific character?
  9. Wow. There's something you don't see every day!
  10. I thought the followup should be "Then how about $400?" I think there's plenty of Boardies who would follow up with that. I think we need comix4fun to get over here to explain about contracts. If I say to someone verbally or in writing, “Would you take X for this comic?” I’m offering to pay that amount. You guys can parse semantics all you want, but that’s an offer. I don’t think I’ve ever said “I would pay you/give you X for this book” 'cause it sounds rude and isn’t conducive to negotiating. In fact, I just bought a big book via PM and asked “Would you consider X for this book?”
  11. Why are you assuming he's sitting by the computer to snipe? He probably uses a sniping program like BidNip, AuctionSniper et. al. like the majority of people who snipe.
  12. Maybe it is just me, but anytime I see someone post that if it doesn't sell it is going to ebay I read that as almost like a threat. me too, but I could never figure out why. Like ohhhhhh I better buy this or its going on Ebay. Oh the horror! For me, it depends on the seller. From some it reads like a squeeze tactic, for others just a heads up that the book will be available there if anyone is still mulling it over.
  13. I started reading Joe Haldeman’s latest, Work for Hire, but stopped. Too gory for me. I’m just about done with Don Heck: A Work of Art by John Coates.
  14. Yes, but it was from Stan's scripts. Stan had nothing to do with the Vision... ... I took the "Stan's scipts" post above as being a tongue-in-cheek, prodding reference to the ol' "Stan did Everything" / "Jack did Everything" debate which is a perennial favorite around these parts... I wasn’t trying to get into that debate, just wanted to keep the record straight; I wasn't sure how that post was meant to be taken. I imagine there’s people out there who may not realize he started out as the office gopher.
  15. Yes, but it was from Stan's scripts. Stan had nothing to do with the Vision, a character created and written by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Stan was still a teenage office assistant when the Vision was introduced, and did not work on any comic writing or characters until months later, and was not working with Jack at that point in his career.
  16. You mean "many are just members of the site who have been buying and selling comics on a smaller scale for 25-35 years." There are people here who've bought and sold comics, in just PRE-CGC years, for longer than some of the modern collectors on this site have been alive. I've owned my copy of AF #15 for 35 years.
  17. First of all, you have to accept that these boards do not represent any kind of majority in the collecting world. Then you have to accept that there are people on here, who own books that are listed in the "clubs" who don't chose to post them. Like me. And they're all raw to boot.
