  1. You're prices seem very aggressive, meaning low. Aggressive pricing usually means the opposite. If a book is priced a good deal higher than current market value, it is priced aggressively.
  2. Painter's tape or Post-it Tabs. The Avery labels dry up over time and will flake off and leave residue.
  3. Think you're right. I'll check logs for that time. I also have reduced the search availability to 1 year, and stopped guests from searching.
  4. Which five? I'm always curious about what books people are missing. I'm probably going to start looking at the books from 158-200 now. I've been waiting, since I wanted to finish the pre-Miller run first, but there's not much buying opportunity so I might as well work on the Miller stuff. I want to do that, finish Born Again and then figure out if I want to complete 200-300. If I did that I'd probably just end up buying runs and submitting them myself, because waiting for those books to show up at auction or for sale would take forever. For that part of the run I need 3, 4, 8, 24 and 29. Those are mostly out of circumstance and funds, I'm not aiming to complete a HG set just the best for my money. Single digit issues I have are lower grade (but with nice eye appeal) and as the series progresses I get more particular about what's acceptable. Past 77 I need about another 50 going up to somewhere around 220-240.
  5. I'm 5 books away from a run from 1-77, but I stalled out ages ago and haven't picked up anything new lately. Working on up to 200-something, not sure where yet.
  6. We could use more whimsical musings from The Black Hand® and detailed discussions of Jeffro's digestive system.
  7. Don't have an Overstreet handy to check that list. Is Brian Ketterer no longer an advisor? Feels like there's some others missing, too.
  8. Sounds like weak tea to me. If someone owed me money and unexpectedly only paid half I'd be livid. And if I owed somebody something like $250, and only had half on hand I’d figure out how to raise the rest PDQ, especially if I sold books with regularity.
  9. Righteous! What a great bunch of books and a nice change of pace from the usual!
  10. With the plethora of menu options these days, I can never remember how to navigate there through ebay so usually enter "how to block ebay bidder" in Google and wham, there's the page.
  11. Yeah, it's like Doc;'s heading out to fight crime, and he thinks... "Hmmm, maybe I should take my Battle Axe with me?" And if Doc has an axe, then naturally Cap needs to get a sword and wrap a pile of cloth strips around his arms and feet, right? Can't go out without those thin strips of cloth. This is bad, like New Universe-level bad. Who's the hoodie? Lizard? Elektro? Probably someone more prominent, but I can't think of anyone. Looks more like Lobo than anyone Marvel. Isn't it Dr. Doom? Looks like him, based on the new FF movie stills.
  12. You can also just send a PM to yourself without using a dead thread. And if it's something major like a VCC booth, I strongly recommend typing everything on your computer in Word and then copying and pasting to your PM. You don't want to be 2/3rds through when you lose you internet connection and your work.
  13. I unexpectedly found myself with a few free hours this afternoon when the mom of a friend of my son's called while passing by, to see if he wanted to come over. After repairing a few of his toys, I sat down with some funnybooks I hadn't read and unexpectedly came across this house ad. If you like Atlas pre-code horror, it doesn't get much cooler than this:
  14. I forgot Giacoia! He was great, too. Prior to ''67-'68, comics were drawn on boards that were about 12.5 x 18.5. (Commonly referred to as "twice-up" or "large art".) The industry downsized to 10 x 15, which forced everyone to draw and letter smaller. Here's a nice summary of what went down.
  15. The move to smaller paper was a factor in the layout changes, too. I think the best art was the Kirby/Sinnott years, but it dropped a tad towards the end when Kirby was holding back and when the paper got smaller. Other than that, I love all the various inking periods: the early Ayers, the Ditko, the Chic Stone. George Roussos wasn't my favorite, but I still enjoy those stories and art. The only stuff I didn't care for so much were the Colletta issues, which look really rushed.
  16. Thanks! It's been a l-o-n-g process, but you know how it is, you just keep chipping away. It's missing the TTA #27, but it'll probably be another year before I get one of those so I figured why wait.
  17. Typically CGC books will fetch more as they should; buying a PGX slab is akin to buying a raw copy. Keep in mind though that this guy’s photos are lousy, and that’s not going to help his bottom line either. Prior to any boost from the TV show, DD #2 in 6.0 was costing around $200-$250 on average.
