I couldn't go to NYCC, which made me very sad. So, I decided to stimulate the economy and my collection with some on-line shopping. First, some minty-fresh late, late Kirby books: Some SA Marvel romance: Mid-grade early hero-monster mishmash: A Fury I picked up by accident: Not uber-HG, but the kind I can read: Courtesy of our boy Roy, and another step closer to finishing my run: And finally, this bad boy. Just a VG, but a book higher on my want list of early ASMs than even #1.

The sun to shine? A cd4ever sales thread? Doc Watson to say something pleasant for a change? Dark "$5.00 Shipped?" Knight2K4 to answer ComicNut, I think.

This may be redundant, but big kudos again to cd4ever for another great batch of books and an entertaining sales thread!

I find it especially interesting that the Donnelly Brothers, who are known for very aggressive OA pricing, are being so cheap about minor fees, given the listing cost them nothing and the sale was only $60.

When I was reading FT's original post on this I was thinking the very same thing... The pendulum has totally swung the other way...there was a time when every sales thread was "invaded" and a lot of times some got totally thrashed, but ever since there's been a kind of consensus not to comment any more (which was initially a good idea) more and more sellers have been having trouble posting a correct (or near-correct grade) What's next ? tiny, cropped scans ? On the plus side I do notice that most of these overgraded books don't sell at all... And it's not only the high grade books, a lot of G/VG books have been popping up and sold as VG or FINE etc... Glad I'm not the only one that has noticed (and has stopped buying) Seconded! Thirded? Dittoed? I'm sure tiny, cropped scans aren't far behind. I saw a recent thread that started with abominable, washed out scans to the point where the books looked like sun-faded wall or window books. Regarding those that don't sell, what seems to happen though is endless bumping or seller bewilderment that nobody is interested in overgraded low-grade books that could be picked up on ebay (or even the LCS) any day of the week for a song.

I can't even explain how disturbing it is. Foolkiller in his Bathrobe or Greggy and the Snake pale in comparison.

Thanks! Standard accumulation of defects, I believe. Back looks nice with sharp corners, but the spine has some nicks and the front corners have minor creases, plus a handful on NCB dings and creases throughout that show up when the book is angled. In spite of that, it presents better than some 5.0-6.0s I've seen.

Captain Lowgrade is back again with a book that just arrived. But hey - it's an old label and it fit my budget, and it's like Thor #4, man!

Above GPA for overgraded drek? Get to work Dork! Waiting for the damn annual fire detection check. What's to detect? If it's really hot and you see smoke......there's probably a fire. What if I decide to go on a bender like you do nightly? Just because you're more responsible now due to Stella doesn't mean you can mindwipe away your past. No, but the blackouts help. With Stella around, it may be more likely he suffers from brownouts.
