  1. I like my #73 okay except for that damn color rub by the spine.
  2. Heritage tags various collections which are in their weekly auctions but do not provide any info about them, unlike the big ticket featured signature auctions that have catalogues. I find it slightly irksome that they'll name a collection but not bother with any provenance, even if it's as simple as an average collector who bought books secondhand. I doubt this collection has anything to do with Gil Kane since he's been dead for decades and if the books were his I'm sure they'd go out of their way to mention that fact to drum up interest.
  3. I assume you guys saw the clip that littledoom was referring to at 16:48. It's a Marshall Rogers Batman sketch a lady picked up at an estate sale for $20.
  4. Yes, and some of the listings noted tanning and others didn't. I saw enough listings that mentioned it to make me skittish.
  5. And that's John Byrne paying homage to Don Martin, not Hembeck.
  6. And by the way, if you see your mom this weekend, be sure to tell her SATAN, SATAN, SATAN!!!
  7. Well, son, a funny thing about regret is that it's better to regret something you have done, than to regret something you haven't done.
  8. Keep in mind the big upsurge in prices that happened during the pandemic is over and prices are settling close to where they were in 2019. GPA shows the 12 month average for #1 in 8.0 is $270, 90 day average is $244 and last sale was $230. With the reprint #4 and mid-grade #107 consider yourself in good shape if you make back your slabbing cost.
  9. I wouldn't mind a nicer copy of this one but it's low on the upgrade pole.
  10. I wouldn't consider the lower prices a crash but rather a correction or readjustment. Comics and collectibles across the board had an unprecedented run-up during the pandemic, around 2021-2022, and since last year have been stabilizing and returning to 2019-2021 levels. You might be interested in this thread: Furthermore, Fantastic Four in general saw some big leaps after Marvel got the film rights back in 2019. While movie-hype books invariably dip down after film's release, I'd attribute lower FF #4 prices to the current market correction more than Wakanda Forever.
  11. There's always an inherent risk in re-submitting a 9.8, especially for Sig Series. I don't think that I would do it, especially given the CGC QC issues that have been going on for a while now, but it entirely depends on how important the 9.8 is to you.
  12. Okay, one more and then it's time to pack it in. Journey Into Mystery #64, apparent VG. There's a small glue tear seal on Rorgg's back by his middle leg. There's also smears of something on the back cover, only visible in raking light. $90.
