  1. There's two books you don't often see in the same sentence. Steinbeck and Thompson, a great pair of writers!
  2. I agree with you about that conversation, but my teenage son and his friends found it laugh out loud funny.
  3. But again what about some due diligence or just some common sense? There’s about as much chance of a copy of Hulk #1 or Cap #1 offered at fraction of FMV from an unknown person on social media being legit as the Rolodex some guy is selling on a street corner.
  4. I would avoid people I don't know selling $50,000 books on social media sites.
  5. Every aspect of this story sounds wonky to me. Like Terry said, you'd think somebody with 40 years experience would notice the difference. Some folks here have said they'd have trouble spotting the typographical mistakes Blowie pointed out, but I think they would be even more obvious with the books in hand. And is this guy really a dealer? His FB post says he's been "doing comics for 40 years." Doesn't "doing" mean he's basically a collector? I can't imagine any of the full-time dealers I know buying books of this caliber via a Facebook posting. And who on earth would post books like this on Facebook? It stinks this poor soul got ripped off, but the selling of the most expensive and coveted books in the hobby at bargain basement prices is as old a scam as the Nigerian prince email.
  6. 1978 Spectacular Spider-Man poster. It was originally folded so I presume it came with another item but my memory is blank and I can't find it online.
  7. 1977 Hulk Poster based on Dave Cockrum's cover for Hulk #206.
  8. John Buscema poster that was also the cover of The Art of John Buscema Book.
  9. Where's Parker? isn't he supposed to lead off each day? Here's my #50, another one I've had for a very long time and haven't upgraded.
  10. My original #49 was even sadder than my #48 with a cutout of Reed's head. It was so unbearable I got rid of it in my late teens and filled the gap many years ago with this nice copy i bought here on the Boards.
  11. Here's my sad #48, one of the earliest back issues I ever bought around 45 years ago. I did have a nicer copy at one point but sold it, figuring I'd get another upgrade later but then the next thing you know it got kind of popular...
  12. Given that this thread was closed 3 years ago, I'd wager it may not be available.
  13. i don't think I have any NM candidates here, but I do have 3 of them.
