    Look at the staple around the tattooz. Does it appear that it has been doctored? Sometimes people replace the tattooz from another book and, in their haste, put them in upside down.

    Still a great copy of a key book.

    Even though there are pressable defects on this ASM 50, the color breaks and loss of paper ( if it is a pull) will keep this from getting a grade bump. Depending on when it was graded, you could press it to remove defects, and get a lower grade on the resubmission.

    To some these books may be their Hulk 181 and ASM 129.

    Books are usually stalled when they have to have multiple graders make a decision on resto/conservation, etc. I had a walk-thru on an mega-key that showed Universal on day 1 and then sat for 3 days. Day 5 it was graded as conserved (cover cleaned).

    Removing the pencil mark, and the resulting indent will be easier than removing the actual dirt on the back cover.

    I’ve seen that, especially with the red inks on the stickers. Everything else comes off, except the price.

    Removing the sticker, if done properly shouldn’t result in any loss of ink or paper. It might leave behind discoloration from the glue interacting with the inks. Having done it many times, it is a fairly straight forward process.

    I just reread the original Jaws Novel and The Relic. IMO both better than the movies even though Jaws was iconic.
