  1. You can always submit them as a pre-screen and then press the ones that fail. It also helps if you use someone that will provide a pre-screen service for you. Many of the professionals out there do, some charge, some don't.
  2. Figured...what the heck. Classic cover with Wrightsons only cover art in the Hulk run. Anything else that others find cool about the book? Please share.
  3. Here is one of my 9.8 copies. I have a Pedigree copy, regular Universal and a Signed copy.
  4. People do. I never understood why, but eraser technology has come a long way compared to way back when.
  5. I think it’s mentioned already but I would not use half, but full backing boards.
  6. Sure is pretty Bob. Nik has good taste, as he loved Marvel black picture frames.
  7. Storing books with issues like these under encyclopedias will not reverse this type of damage, nor will using wonder bread (unless you don’t mind vegetable oil being rubbed into your comic) remove the scuffs properly If any of these crunches break color you will most likely will not get a 9.8 even after pressing. They would need to be reviewed first for any potential, and scans aren’t enough to go by.
  8. Financially, no. If it has certain sentimental value...maybe. Everyone comments above are spot on.
  9. It would make sense as they generate more income on moderns, especially signature series moderns.
  10. More than a few bugs. Email is down right now, I apologize for that. They are working on it. In the meantime PM sent.
  11. OK. That's one small issue. What about on the spine and on the bottom edge to the left of "1941"?
  12. Anyone seeing movement I value books received around 5/20?
  13. You can, if the person doing the work is familiar with working with foil covers.
  14. Normally I would have an opinion, but since they are Patrick’s books and I am a lowly restorer, err presser I will keep all of my opinions to myself.
  15. Yes, thank you. It was a mess last time. Its s my last show of 2019 so bring good stuff guys and gals...I have real money to spend.
  16. Anything can be rectified or mitigated...all depends if you want books that would be considered restored or conserved. Dry cleaning will only remove surface issues. You would need much more than a dry cleaning to remove tanning, dirt and dust shadows this deeply imbedded into the paper fibers.
  17. A 9.4 copy has eluded me for many years now. I have submitted 4 copies I found in the wild, with the highest grade being a 9.0.
  18. Looks like some minor ink transfer from books either stacked against it or from interior inks bleeding through. CGC is usually easy on the top overhang as I have had a hulk 1 with similar issues grade out at 6.5. The crease along the spine will not allow a 6.5 but I believe this to be in the 5.5 range +/- A press would help this book greatly.
  19. It looks to be a combination of both the ink transfer and another book leaving ink behind if you look closely. Look at the word "this" in the dark triangle on the back cover. The word "The" is present (and backwards as expected) and what looks like an "A" as well.
