  1. One of my most cherished moments at any comic convention was that last breakfast a few of us had with Nik. He had been complaining about headaches and talked about going to the doctor. That morning is more cherished to me than the first Greek town dinner at WWC Jim mentioned earlier in this thread about all the good times we had as a group, but things have never truly been the same since his passing.
  2. Wile pressing may lead to some cover shrinkage or alignment issues on older books, I believe most of the damage is not because the book was pressed, but because the book was PREPPED and pressed incorrectly.
  3. This is a combination of light surface dirt and foxing. The impact of the dirt/foxing to the back cover can be lessened. Since the book does have surface dirt, it leads me to believe it was probably not pressed. There is little that can be done to the foxing without using techniques that I would consider restorative.
  4. I would give it a 5.0/5.5. A 5.5 is selling for around $675.00 The shape of the other two could determine if it is a deal you would break even on. The 33, if in 8.0 or better shape could be worth $150 and up. Either way the ask is a little on the high side.
  5. Wonder bread will lift some surface dirt, but I cannot see how it would lessen foxing. With all of the state of the art erasers out there, who would rub chemicals into their comics using over the counter bread.
  6. Beige ( a member on these boards is from Melbourne), you should hit him up. I would also recommend not getting anyone from a Facebook group to work on your books.
  7. The few times I had issues with walk-thru books taking more times than usual, it meant they were really looking over the book because they felt it was conserved or restored. Don’t think that’s the case here as the book is still sitting as received. I would call (if it were me, I would have already called).
  8. All depends on the severity of the fingerprint impression. Has it affected the inks? Does it appear to be a surface only issue? Could be a simple fix or result in ink loss, which would be hammered by CGC.
  9. That is unusual wear and most likely was a single event that caused it instead of wear over time. Almost looks like the edge of the book was crushed (maybe when sealing the inner well), but we cannot be sure. That would explain why it was originally given an 8.5 grade. What do the graders notes say?
  10. Logged into the system on 7/2 or the box was received at CGC on 7/2?
  11. Those are "clips" that keep the comic in place...not damage, and the edge of the inner well where it is sonically sealed.
  12. Can we please add a hulk price variant set. I made the set including the 30 Cent and 35 Cent Price Variants only. I hope that was what you were looking for.
  13. Is this something I can create myself, or do I need to request it be created?
