  1. A competent professional can get it to 2.0 or possibly 2.5.
  2. Depending on what type of tape was used and how recently it was applied could cause issues with the inks. The glue hasn’t affected color yet, but in the hands of someone inexperienced it could lift color and you would be worse off than before.
  3. Lots of foxing on the back cover. Appears CGC is now grading them similar to stains.
  4. Will be adding a few more later this week and then closing it down.
  5. Best to leave it alone. Even exposing a book like this to any moisture or heat can be disastrous.
  6. Not really. Some of them, the spines are a mess. There is no way to remove all the damage from the way the glue dried attaching the cover to the interior pages. Historically, CGC has not been hard on this. production issue. I have many 9.6 and even 9.8 slabs where the spine looks all gnarly.
  7. Irregularities in the spine are very common on square bound books. The paper wrinkles and puckers depending on how much or little glue was used during the manufacturing process.
  8. Happy for you they were found. Let’s see how they at least honor the original paperwork’s pricing and shipping fees due to their mix up.
  9. Be careful it’s just dust. If there is any dirt you can run the risk of scratching the cover when you wipe it. I recommend using a soft bristled brush first.
  10. Spawn #1 CGC 9.0 Newsstand Edition. $225.00
  11. New scanner that stinks on slabs. getting the old one repaired. Will be back tomorrow.
  12. Looks like spray from distributor ink. It will get dinged. And yes, if done correctly it can be greatly reduced or removed completely.
  13. It is very clean. But if it was “whitened” they didn’t do a very good job. I am sure every dry cleaning and possibly some chemicals may have been used. Without having the book in hand I can only guess how glossy the book is. The back cover appears dull to me lending me to believe it was cleaned with more than erasers.
  14. One more for today. Marvel Age #90 CGC 9.6 White Pages. $250.00
  15. Incredible Hulk #340 CGC 8.0 White Pages (Newsstand). Looks nicer but the scan shows a crease on the back cover that I don't remember being there. $200.00
  16. Will be listing one a day for the next week or so. Consider all books pressed. I take personal checks and paypal. No returns on slabs. Please ask questions up front. No one on any lists or those that I have on ignore. Shipping is a flat $10.00
  17. Sorry to hear Greg. I always have things scanned now. It’s a pain but I have had zero issues since I started doing it about 7 years ago.
  18. I knew where my missing books were before the people who were supposed to be looking for them did. The status on them changed and when I called about it to make sure it was correct they said it was. When I emailed the people who were looking for them they were just as surprised as I was.
